June rushes forward, helping Thomas pin Lucas down, gripping his arms despite her fear.
Lucas thrashes, snarling like a wounded beast, and he roars in a terrifyingly strange voice.
"Let me out!"
Emilia's body shakes greatly, and she coughs a great deal, touching her bruised neck to be sure it is safe.
"What's going on?" she asks.
"Grip him tighter," Thomas orders June sharply and hits Lucas with a blow to his back, expecting to knock him out, but fails.
Lucas throws him off instead, sending him and June thrashing on the floor, but Thomas comes at him again, pulling him back from reaching Emilia.
He hits him hard again, and Lucas finally crashes a little but still isn't knocked out.
Thomas turns to Emilia, who is appalled in the corner.
"Get back," he says.
"And don't look away," he instructs, heaving.
Before she can ask what he means, Thomas draws a blade.
He slices across his own palm, and blood spills instantly.
Lucas goes still.
