He heard everything they said.
Emilia and June both jolted upright, expecting him to say something, but he simply nodded at Emilia instead.
"Your Majesty,"
Emilia coughed and smoothed her skirt.
"You are done," Emilia said, and gave a nervous smile.
"I need to find a way to send a message out so we can return to the palace," Thomas informed them.
"I will stay here with him then," she said with tinged red cheeks and hurried her way to the door.
Thomas sighed, stepping aside and allowing her in.
June made to follow her in as well, but Thomas stopped her, grabbing her shoulder, and she shuddered.
"What are you doing? Let go," she snapped.
"Your Majesty, do you mind if your maid comes with me? We might need to get some firewood," Thomas asked.
"No, Your Majesty…" June shook her head, pleading silently with Emilia to refute him.
Emilia blinked twice, telling her she was on her own, and nodded a go-ahead to Thomas.
