Marcus stared at his computer screen, the presentation for tomorrow's board meeting finally completed after hours of work.
His eyes burned from looking at the screen too long, and his shoulders ached from sitting hunched over his desk, he glanced at the time in the corner of the display, nine thirty-seven PM. Most of the building had emptied out hours ago.
It had been a few days since he'd last seen Ryan, and Marcus missed him greatly.
They'd been texting throughout the week, little messages back and forth that kept Marcus smiling despite the stress of work and everything else weighing on him.
Tonight, after he finished here, he was planning to go to Ryan's house to see him.
Marcus closed his laptop and leaned back in his chair, his mind drifting away from work to the other investigation that had been consuming his thoughts.
A few days ago, he'd sent a message to his contact, the anonymous investigator who'd been helping him look into Logan's disappearance.
