Ryan stood in the warehouse watching Kane and the others count and organize the goods they'd collected from their latest supplier meeting.
The space was filled with the quiet sounds of work, boxes being moved, bags being sorted, the scratch of Matt's pen as he recorded inventory numbers in his neat handwriting.
Everything was routine, normal, the kind of operation they'd done hundreds of times before.
Ryan leaned against one of the support pillars, his mind elsewhere, he'd been thinking about his conversation with Marcus from last night, about everything Marcus had told him.
"Matt," Ryan said, breaking the comfortable silence. "I found out something."
Matt looked up from his clipboard. "What is it?"
"Marcus told me he had an uncle named Logan Jensen, Owen Jensen's brother."
That got Matt's attention, he set the clipboard down and walked over to where Ryan stood. "What? Owen has a brother?"
"Had," Ryan corrected. "He's dead, he was killed about a month ago."
