He'd received a call just a few minutes ago from one of his men who was on surveillance duty watching Marcus. The man's voice had been tense, urgent in a way that immediately set off alarms in Ryan's head.
He'd seen someone suspicious around Marcus's company building, and had been watching this person since earlier that morning.
At first, he'd thought maybe they were a repair worker or maintenance staff, someone with legitimate business in the building, but something about the way they moved, the way they kept checking their surroundings, had felt off.
Now it was past time for the office to close, everyone had left the building one by one, but Marcus was still inside, still working late like he'd been doing this week. And the suspicious person had entered the building discreetly, pulling their face cap low to obscure their features.
