It didn't took a while for Syla and Seth to arrive at the other side of the street after crossing, now they were only a couple meters away from Seth's cat, thankfully she was still sitting beside the food vendor, the vendor occassionally gave the cat some raw meat since that's what he was selling. It turns out the vendor was a butcher, and as many people said, cats or dogs loved to be near butchers since they could get free food.
"Can i get 6 of Fleuren's breasts?" A woman came to the vendor and asked for a couple meat.
'Fleuren?' Syla was surprised with the customer's order, she never heard of a creature called Fleuren before, but she did heard its name mentioned a couple times.
'Back in Direwell– When i was walking to the guild to get my adventurer's plate, i heard someone talking about eating Fleuren, but i didn't really get interested since i had something more important in my mind..' Syla thought.
"Sure do." The vendor's owner replied as he grabbed something from below.
"Hey miss, when are you going to approach Carlia?!" Seth suddenly asked.
"Carlia? Is that your cat's name?" Syla responded with another question.
"Yeah." Seth said, he kept a close watch for Carlia as she looked at the vendor's face with eagerness.
'Huh!? Isn't that!?' Syla was shocked when she saw what the meat vendor just pulled from below him, it was the full meat of a chicken.
'Isn't that just a chicken!? Is Fleuren a chicken!? No.. that's not the usual size of chicken- So.. Turkey!?' She thought.
'Wait so chicken in this world is called Fleuren but cats are still cat? Then what about dog– Uhh.. it's probably a monster isn't it..'
The vendor then cut the Fleuren's meat into multiple pieces, his cutting skills was impeccable, fit for someone who had been a butcher for a few years, after he was done cutting the Fleuren, he separated the breast part onto another side, since he already had a lot cutted meat on the table, he didn't need to cut another Fleuren just to give the woman the other breasts, when the woman received the 6 Fleuren breasts just as she had ordered, she then paid the vendor 2 Silvers and 4 Coppers before leaving.
"Thank you for the purchase." The vendor said as he saw the woman left.
Soon, he cleaned his cleaver with water on the bucket beside his vendor and saw Carlia still sitting.
"Huh? You're still here?" He said, surprised by the cat's loyalty. "I guess i can give you a few more.."
The vendor then rummaged through the basket below his stand and grabbed a few piece of meat that had black spot on it and gave it to the cat.
"Mraooww!!" The cat meows as its paw was reaching for the vendor's hand.
When the meat was thrown onto her, the cat happily accepted the gift and she began gnawing on the raw meat viciously, savoring the food while not realizing the two figure that slowly creeped onto her from behind.
"Huh? Who are you?" The vendor realized Syla and Seth walking quietly towards him.
Their strange behaviour weirded the man, he initially assumed that they had an ulterior motives and was about to scream when suddenly, Syla stopped the man and told him to keep quiet.
"Sshhh!" She said while keeping her index finger infront of her lips.
"We're here for that cat!" Syla whispered to the vendor. "This boy is the owner of that cat, and he wanted to bring it home."
"—Is that so.. sigh You scared me, i thought you were here for something else, atleast show your face, good grief.. Whatever, take that cat to wherever you like." The man answered, whispering back to Syla as to not startle the cat that was eating the raw meat beside him.
"Thank you." Syla thanked the man for his understanding. "I'll capture it for you."
Syla tapped on Seth's shoulder and walked forward for him.
"O- okay.." Seth surprisingly didn't reject Syla's help and just went along with her plan.
Amidst the busy street, Syla gradually took a step, silencing her footsteps as she closed her distance with Carlia, she stretched both of her hands and was about to grab Carlia's body when suddenly–
Thud!
"MRAOOWW!!" Carlia screamed, her body quickly got lifted upwards and she was forced to see Syla's face once again.
The capture was successful, and Syla was able to get the cat within her grasp.
"Y- You captured her!" Seth instantly went over to Syla and looked at his pet from up close. "Carlia!"
"She's quite agressive.." Syla said. She had expected the cat to be sensitive to touch, but she didn't expect it to be this bad.
It was as if the cat had never felt the touch of a human being and had been living its entire life as a stray.
'Is she really a pet cat?' Syla thought to herself.
After screaming for some more time, Carlia eventually fell into silence, her eyes was wide opened, with her pupils growing into a rounder shape as she saw Syla and Seth intensely.
"Are you sure this is your cat!? I think she's a little too agressive.." Syla said.
"Im sure its her.. She has the same color pattern." Seth replied.
"Really? But other cats could have the same too.." Syla was starting to doubt if the cat's in her arms was the real Carlia or not.
"Let me carry her, im sure she'll recognize me." Seth said, his arms was trying to carry Carlia.
Syla let him grab the cat and carried it like a baby, after observing her being calm when Seth was carrying her, Syla decided that she must've been overthinking it, and that this cat was really Seth's pet.
"—I guess you're right.. Then, since you got it now, don't let it escape again, im not gonna help you a second time you know." Syla said.
"Of course miss, thank you for helping me!!" Seth responded with a big smile.
When Syla saw his smile, she couldn't help but sigh and appreciate his thanks, a kid like him who hasn't even grown into a teenager are always kind, and Syla was glad to be able to help him.
"See you then." She said before leaving Seth alone, she passed by the butcher vendor and saw him giving her a wink.
"Good job miss." He said.
"Hah, thank you." Syla replied softly.
She was walking away from Seth, his figure was about to be obstructed by the other passerby, but then Syla suddenly heard a scream.
"WAAHHH!!"
It came from behind her, and its voice resembled Seth's way too much, Syla quickly turned around and saw Seth on the other side of the street panicking, it seems like Carlia has escaped again!
"H- HEY! STOP!!" He shouted at the running Carlia, Seth chased after Carlia on the same narrow path that Syla and him took a couple minutes earlier and he disappeared from Syla's vision a while later.
Syla was stunned, she wanted to say something but her mouth couldn't move. In the end, she laughed at Seth's comedic situation and moved on with her morning.
"I guess that cat wasn't his after all– He'll have a lot to tell to his friends in the future." She said as she continued her walk.
