The next day, 25th May, 227 EY, 7:30AM—
Inside the Ironcarp Inn, Syla sat on one of the chair that was at the counter desk, a chunk of steak bathed in chili sauce was served infront of her with smokes coming out of it, the steak had just left the grill and Syla looked at the alluring delicacy with sparkling eyes as she grabbed the wooden knife and fork in both of her hands.
"Eat up." Said Garven, the inn owner.
"Thank you." Syla smiled at Garven's generosity and began eating her breakfast, she cuts the steak slowly before stabbing it using the fork and putting it in her mouth, the food was still hot, but fortunately Syla wasn't someone with a cat's tongue, so she ate it with little to no problems.
When she ate the last bit of the steak, Syla thanked Garven for the food and gave the plate to him, once her belly was full, she decided to go out and continue exploring the town, Syla said her goodbye to Garven and left the inn, feeling refreshed as she realized that it was the second day of her being a wanderer.
"Phew.. That steak was delicious." Syla said while she stood infront of the inn's door. "Well, it's still morning, and the best thing to do right now is to take a stroll on the street."
And so, she walked through the busy neighborhood with a smile on her face, a few seconds after she moved from the inn, Syla checked her satchel to see how many coins she had left, and when she was done counting, the result wasn't as she had expected.
"6 Silvers and 18 Coppers coins.. I used 2 silvers already!?" Syla said. "Dad gave me 8 silvers and 20 coppers.. When added, that's exactly 1 gold— Umm, this probably will last me for about a week, but i don't know why but i got a feeling that i'll spend it all soon.."
Syla stared at her coins for a while until she puts it inside her satchel again and closed it for good.
'There's no need to worry about it now, i still have plenty, i think..' She thought.
After walking for quite some times, Syla ended up in a crossroads, she looked at both direction before deciding to go right since it looked more crowded than the left side. While she was glancing at various shops and vendors that were about to open, Syla accidentally bumped her shoulder at a passerby.
Thud!
"Ah, sorry!" She apologized, looking at the passerby that she just bumped.
The passerby was an adventurer, he looks similar in age with Gauss, wearing a white tunic and leather armor along with black cape on his back.
"It's fine." He said, his eyes were looking at Syla, however he soon averted his gaze towards her breasts before moving away.
"Hm?" Syla didn't realize what just happened, she only stared at the adventurer with confusion before seeing him walked away from her. "I guess he doesn't mind— Hm?"
At the corner of her eyes, Syla noticed a building that had a sign hanging over its front door, with an illustration of two swords crossing carved into it, Syla was intrigued by the drawing and walked closer to inspect, that's when she realized that the building was a weapon shop, inside the glass was a bunch of weapons such as swords, axes, bows, and even spears being displayed for anyone to buy.
"Hooh, a weapon shop? sounds interesting." Syla said as she entered the shop.
She saw some adventurers standing and staring at the various weapons that was on the display shelf, some of them seems to be thinking hard, contemplating about which weapon they should pick, however Syla won't be doing all that, because her intention to coming in here was just to look around and see what kinds of weapons she would buy in the future.
"There's a lot..." She whispered, seeing that nobody inside the shop was talking or having any conversation, Syla assumed that it was an etiquette to be silent.
As she kept walking from shelf to shelf, Syla was presented with even more weapons than what she saw from the outside, there was even mace, rapier, and shield.
Then, while Syla was inspecting the rapier infront of her, a voice was heard from the other side of the room.
"Sir, how much for this sword?" A man voice yelled at the shop's owner.
Syla who assumed that she needs to be silent when inside the shop was utterly shocked to hear the yell, it turns out there's no such thing as etiquette at a weapon shop.
"That? 8 Golds." The weapon shop owner, who was a jacked middle-aged man, spoke in a coarse voice, his mustache was thick and his left eye seems to have been blinded by the vertical scar on his skin.
"E- EIGH—" Syla almost screamed when she heard the price, but held her mouth together with her hand right before others could hear her voice.
'8 Golds!? That's more expensive than the books in my house!? And that's not even a sword– It's more like a dagger to me.. But 8 GOLDS!?' Syla said to herself.
She thought that the man that had asked for the price would be surprised too when he heard the price, but turns out, his reaction was the opposite from what Syla had in mind.
"I'll take it." The man said.
"You sure it's durable?" Another man that was beside him asked, it seems like he was his friend.
"Aye, don't ever doubt my creation, you two are adventurers ight? If that weapon breaks tomorrow, i'll give you your 8 golds back, how about that? That's how confident i am." The weapon shop owner responded confidently, he raised his chest as if challenging the two adventurers infront of him.
"Really!? Hah, i'll take every quest i can and break your sword today! Take this!" The man then took a leather pouch, he pulled the rope that tightened the pouch and loosened it, and from that pouch, the man grabbed exactly 8 golds before giving it to the shop owner.
"Good choice lad, have a safe trip and come back whenever you need a new weapon." The shop owner said as he accepted the payment and waved goodbye to the two adventurers.
Syla watched as the two adventurers left the shop, laughing and smiling to their new weapon, and after a few more minutes of looking, Syla was satisfied with her weapon inspection and walked out of the shop, the shop owner fortunately didn't questioned her for why she left without buying anything.
"What should i do next.." She said while looking at the streets, searching for another place that she finds interesting.
When she didn't find anything, Syla then continue her stroll around the town, while other people on the street were shopping for groceries or preparing to work, Syla seems to be the only one that is there to relax. After a few more seconds of walking, Syla stumbled upon a group of adventurers infront of her.
They were hanging out near a large building on the side, many of them gathered in a group of 3 or 4 and they talked to each other frequently, as if they were discussing some sort of plan.
"This much adventurers.. Wait, i know—" Syla was about to assume what she will came across, however her assumption was immediately shattered as she saw the hanging sign ontop of the front door of the large building, it has an illustration of two swords crossing, similar to the weapon shop from earlier, however this one has a shield in the middle, symbolizing defense and protection.
'Adventurer's Guild!' Syla shouted in her mind.
