At Syla's house, 6:00PM—
Syla opened the front door and was about to enter, when she hit her head against something soft, when she looked up, she saw her mother with a dissatisfied face, she was definitely going to get angry at her for coming home this late.
"Umm.. Im home?" Syla said as she scratched the back of her head.
Her mother sighed, seemingly letting out the anger directly out of her mouth, she then instructed Syla to take a bath and get ready for dinner.
"I already prepared warm water for you, take that clothes off, you're sweaty." She said.
"Oh? Syla!? Where have you been? Playing with the kids? That's unusual of you!" Syla's dad peeked through one of the room in the house, he had already cleaned himself and was in the middle of tidying up his equipment and clothing.
"Lud forced me to play today, so i did.." Syla said as she took her clothes off and walked to the back of her house where a wooden bathtub was prepared with warm water in it.
Her mother left her to prepare for dinner, Syla was left alone with her own thoughts at the bathtub, bubbles blowed from her mouth as she dove half of her head beneath the water.
'What should i do now.. It's been 4 years since i was reborn, i haven't touched magic yet even though i was most excited in learning it– I know how to feel mana in my body, but i can't figure out how to use magic, is it something that can't be learned alone? Do you need a teacher for it?' Syla wondered for a moment.
'Chanting a spell doesn't work, and imagining the spell in my head also doesn't work, is there anything else that i miss? A method of using magic that i forgot from the stories on earth—
'If only i could obtain a book about magic, unfortunately dad said books about magics are way too expensive for us to buy, though he said if i really wanted it, he will start saving up for it– But i don't want to burden him, so i said no—
'Dad received 5 silvers on average for every successful hunt, 10 copper is equal to 1 silver, and 10 silver is equal to 1 gold– The book about weaponsmith costs around 3 golds, while the other books can range to 2 - 5 golds.. That means, a book about magic can approximately cost 30 to 50 golds if dad had to save for it.'
As Syla was deep in thoughts, a voice called her out near her.
"Don't sleep at the bathtub, your skin will wrinkle."
It was her mother, waiting for her at the doorframe, leaning into the wall. Syla turned around and let out a chuckle, she then stand up from the bathtub and walked out into her house, where she then get dried and put on new clothes.

At dinner time—
Syla was eating with her own plate, while usually other kids at her age still relies mostly with their parents, Syla on the other hand can most things by herself, she learned how to be independent at such young age, from the outside perspective, this was a major achievement, but for her, this was just a waiting game.
In the middle of her eating, Syla stopped abruptly, not taking another bite out of the cooked meat infront of her, she then looked at both of her parents and uttered a request.
"Mom, dad— Please, let me learn magic!." She said confidently.
Her parents was startled by the sudden request, they looked at Syla with wary eyes, their hands still holding the wooden spoon that previously was about to be put inside their mouth.
"Huh? Syla— Are you serious?" Her dad said, bewildered by his daughter's interest. "I know you've said that you wanted a book about magics before, but you seriously want to use magic?"
"Syla, learning magic doesn't sound as amazing as you think, there's many consequences with obtaining such power." Her mom tried to gqave her a reminder and a warning.
However, Syla's resolve was already as hard as a monolith, she kept firm on her request.
"I don't understand why learning magic doesn't sound amazing, is there a side effect from learning magic?" Syla asked.
Her parents hesitated to answer, but in the end they gave up and told Syla the truth.
"To use magic, you first need to be in a lot of pain. And after that, you will have to understand mana, which is something that every mage should know." Her mom said, letting out deep sigh with each pauses.
"A lot of pain?" Syla wondered. "Is mana the flowing water you feel when you close your eyes?"
"Huh?" Both her parents was surprised at the same time.
"Syla— You can feel your mana?" Her dad asked, his voice was a little shaky.
Syla nodded before replying, "Yeah, sometimes when i close my eyes, i can feel this flowing water inside my body, it was cold."
'I should simplify it and not use a more complex terms, or else my intelligence would be way too abnormal for them to accept.' She thought as she kept talking infront of her parents.
Her parents looked at each other for a few seconds, they seem to be thinking about what to do next, on one side, they knew the process that Syla will have to go through if she wants to use magic, but on another side, they also curious if Syla was ready or not, and if she really are a genius like they thought she were.
'They must be deciding on whether i'll be allowed to learn magic or not— Well, no matter their answer, i already have mine.'
"Haahh– Alright, we'll support you, however!— If you feel like quitting or if it's too much, then you will quit. If we think you're not ready, then you will quit too. How is it? Do you still want to learn magic?" Her dad asked for one last time, his expression was more serious than usual, there's no joke in his tone, this decision will decide her daughter's future.
Syla sat in silence, her mind raced, thinking about every possible scenario that could've happened, she thought about how tough it would be to learn magic, if her body was ready or not, if she will risk her life doing it, all of that possibilities led Syla to her answer.
"— Yes, i want to learn magic."
Her answer felt like a boulder to her parents, they never expected their daughter would be serious about magic at 4 years old, an age where she should still be focusing on playing with her friends and discovering new things.
'Syla, just how many information have you gained from reading those books, sometimes when i talk to you, i feel like im talking to a teenager rather than a child.' Her mother wondered in her head.

2 Months Later, 5:00PM—
A normal day it was, as the sun began to set in the horizon, a knock on the door made Syla closed her book and walked up to the doorstep, she opened the door and saw her dad coming home from hunting, his clothes as usual dirty from fighting. However today was a different day, Syla's dad came home with a big smile on his face, a smile bigger than what he usually showed from the previous days.
"Did something happened dad?" Syla asked out of curiosity, she couldn't help but also smile aswell after seeing her dad.
"Syla, hear me out! Your dad finally found a magic instructor that can teach you magic! He said he's been an instructor for more than a decade! So i think he'll be thrilled to see you!" Her dad said in joy, he lifted Syla up to his head height and spins around until they reached the couch.
"Really!? Finally!" Syla replied happily.
'I've been waiting for this! The time has come!' She quietly thought to herself.
