Approximately 2 hours later—
BOOM!
"Good job! Keep it up!" Hensen shouted at Syla with a fireball in his hand.
The two of them had been training for almost an hour now, and Syla was visibly sweating as her fatigue started to slow down her movement.
WOOSH!
A fireball was launched, as usual, it headed straight for Syla, but there was something different with this fireball that almost caught Syla off guard, the fireball was bigger than what Hensen would normally throws, at first Syla didn't notice it because he was standing far from her, but now that the fireball was coming at her, she realized the difference in size from the previous fireball.
'KEUK!' She grunted as she dashed to the left, her arms instinctively moved to try to parry the fireball using the wooden stick in her hand.
BOOM!
Syla closed her eyes, unsure if she managed to change the fireball's trajectory using the wooden stick, and as she opened her eyes, she saw Hensen clapping with a smile on his face.
"Congratulation!, that was the first fireball you managed to parry." Hensen said. "Do you want to take a break?"
Syla didn't realize it until then, her breathing was heavy and her legs are shaking, if she doesn't rest now, it'd be bad for her body.
"Yes!" Syla answered as she walked closer to Mr. Hensen and her parents.
"Good job Syla." Her dad praised her, he gently tapped his palm onto Syla's head and began rubbing her ears.
"Urgh, stop that." She said, moving her dad's hand away from her before sitting on the grassy plains.
After a few more conversations with her parents, Hensen approached Syla and sat down beside her.
"You're improving fast." He said.
"Thank you, Mr. Hensen." Syla replied with a smile, though her voice was a bit sore from the fatigue.
"Do you have any question?" Hensen asked Syla as he gave back the smile to her, waiting for her response.
"Umm— How powerful can my magic get? Can i split a mountain like those people in books and legends?" Syla curiously said.
"Ahahaha, that's a good question." Hensen chuckled upon hearing Syla's question. "Well how do i explain this– Yes, you can split mountains, and kill dragons using magics, however—
"To obtain such power, you'll need to keep training everyday, or! If you want to gain quick powers, you can always find a magic artifacts!" Hensen explained, turning Syla's eyes into a mirror of lights as he do so.
"Where can i find a magic artifacts!?" Syla joyfully asked, curious with magic artifacts when she heard that it can make her stronger.
"Heh, people make it! You can find magic artifacts being sold in towns and cities, but!— They all only helps you a little, usually magic artifacts are used to boost one's ability, but not make them incredibly strong—
"The magic artifacts you see in books and legends are one of the few that is crafted by the best craftsmen, some artifacts are even created by mythical beings like dragons! That's how they get their powers."
As Hensen keep explaining to Syla, her face stays locked onto him the entire time, her ears ocassionally twitched, as if it was an indicator that she was listening closely with what he was saying.
'This girl, she's really cute, especially when making that kind of face– It's a face that screams "I want to become like that when i grow up!"– When did i last seen that face, i wonder.' Hensen said to himself.
The rest of the morning was spend with more trainings, before the sun became too hot to continue, they ended the lesson and went back to the village, where they then parted right at the entrance fences.
.
.
A few days later, 2:00PM—
Inside the playground located in the east side of the village, Syla was seen sitting beneath the Elvenfruit tree, it's her usual behavior, but this time, her body felt stiff, she doesn't have any energy to play with anyone like before, after being put into magic trainings everyday, her body started to take a toll for it.
'Ugh, how long do i need to stay here? If it weren't for making these kids and other people in the village thinks nothing strange is happening to me, i would already be sleeping in my bedroom right now—
'It's been a week, i think– And Mr. Hensen said im already at the final stage before awakening my mana‐ It should happen around 2 or 3 days from now if i don't mess up, that's faster than what he said– But it seems like he already accepted me as being not normal, so he didn't ask or felt surprised by it—
'Magic artifacts huh, it sure sounds interesting, i'd like to see one soon– but to do that, i have to leave this village, and explore this world. Hah, yeah that won't happen until 10 years later.'
While Syla was thinking about the future, Lud suddenly approached and sat down beside her.
"Hey, why are you so quiet?" He asked Syla, his eyes followed the kid infront of him that was running around.
"Huh? What do you mean, i'm always like this aren't i?" Syla replied, looking down on the ground below.
"Yeah! But you usually read a book here! Now all you do is just sit and doing nothing, isn't that boring?" Lud said, seeing the running kid fall to the ground. "Ah! He fell! Ahahaa!"
He then stood up and began running towards the fallen kid, "Are you okay!?" He said as he was approaching him.
While Lud was helping the kid, Syla only watched him from the same spot, feeling a bit envious with Lud's easygoing personality, just like how a normal child should be.
'I wonder what they think of this world as someone that were natively born here.' She thought, imagining a hypothetical scenario where she forgot her previous life's memory.
'Heh, i won't be learning magic right now if i didn't have my memory, and i won't be interested with books and this world as much as i am now.'
At that moment, Syla decided to stand up and approach Lud from behind, the kid that fell to the ground began crying from the pain, and the others seemed to not know what to do.
"Lud, step aside." Syla said with a smirk.

6:00PM—
The sun had gone down, and Syla was back at her home, she sat on the dining chair and waited for dinner to arrive as her mom came out of the kitchen with multiple plates of food. Her dad was also there, when he came back home from hunting an hour earlier, he had blood pouring from the side of his stomach, Syla and her mom was shocked to see the wound and quickly brought her dad to the bedroom, where he was treated further.
Now, the wound has been sealed with bandage, thankfully they always saved some emergency kit in the house, in case of something like this happened, after all, being a hunter always come with a risk and danger.
"Sorry Syla, i made you worried– To be ambushed by a pack of rogue goblins, im kind of embarassed, haha." Her dad said with a slight smile, seemingly guilty to have caused his daughter to see him in such state.
"Dad, you should be more careful.. Is this the result of taking a 5 days off? Has your skill dulled?" Syla said jokingly, showing to her dad that she wasn't worried about him anymore.
Her dad fell silent for a few seconds before he laughed at the joke.
"Ahahahaha! You're really my daughter, that's exactly what i would say to my friend too!" He said playfully as if the pain from his wound was being expelled out of his body.
Together, the two of them talked for a few more minutes, their mom ocassionally joined the conversation while handing them their dinner, and they all spend the night as usual like there was nothing that ever happened.
