Chapter 31 - Together

Word had not yet spread outside of the Goldtree Academy of Levian's identity, so he was able to make his way back down to the third floor, where he would find his living quarters.

On this floor, there were thousands upon thousands of small houses, made from the branches of the gold tree itself. They had been carved beautifully, and each contained everything that one might need.

Levian swiftly made his way to the room that he had been told was designated for him.

All he wanted to do was wash and then sleep. He had never felt so drained in his life.

However, as he opened the door to the wooden complex, he was met with a sight that made him go red in the cheeks.

Sitting on the sofa, wearing nothing but a bathrobe to cover her body, was his red-haired fiancée, Diana.

She seemed to be focusing on her hands, where a small orb of blue magic had formed. It was taking all of the energy in her body to keep it flowing.

Levian stood there, frozen in disbelief.

When Diana noticed him, the blue energy flickered away, but her eyes lit up at the sight of him.

She ran over and pulled him into a hug. He could feel her hardly covered breasts pushing up against him as she squeezed him tightly.

"Levian!" She cheered, pulling away from the hug so that he could get a look at the beautiful room. "Welcome to our home."

At first, he was taken aback by her words.

"Our home" meant that they would be living together, which was something he had never considered.

But of course, it made sense to the elves. After all, they were supposed to be getting married.

Then, his attention turned towards the more important matter. He looked down into Diana's golden eyes.

"Diana... you've awakened?"

Her face seemed to light up again with excitement. "I know. I never expected to be given the opportunity so soon. I met a mage who had access to a human awakening stone. She said that since we're staying here, she would teach me magic."

Levian felt a wave of joy washing over him. Not just because Diana had awakened, but also because of how happy it had made her.

He ran a hand through her red curly hair. "I'm proud of you Diana, I really am. Who was the mage that offered to help you?"

Diana made her way over to the sofa and took a seat. "Her name was Jyselle. She knew who you were... I think that played a part in the reason why she decided to help me. She's even offered to be my mentor!"

Levian was hardly paying attention to the words that followed the name.

Jyselle... the Archmage Supreme is going to mentor Diana in magic?

He looked down at the cute face of his wife. Her soft skin, and delicate features.

Just how powerful will she become if she's trained by such a woman?

He found himself laughing to himself afterwards, as he plopped down on the chair beside his fiancée, letting out a great sigh.

What sort of husband and wife duo will we become?

He wanted to ask her all kinds of things about her meeting with the Supreme, as well as what talents and skills she had awakened.

But first, he explained to her what sort of day he had. He explained his meeting with the King, as well as the Prophecy of the Tree.

When he explained his duel with Farys, her face grew worried, and she offered to try and heal him, which suggested that she was probably a healer class.

Her interests piqued most when he explained the upcoming battle for peace. The 5v5 fight that would determine the fate of the elves and humans.

"Does King Gaëlf truly want you to fight? Does he think you will be strong enough in 6 months to rival the strongest that the humans have to offer?"

Levian wasn't sure himself. He did not know exactly what the King thought, but what he did know, was his own convictions.

"After achieving my mastery, the King believes that my power will reach unimaginable heights. I just need to create these mythical weapons and find out what new talent I awaken... This is what I need to do if I want to make a difference in the world."

Diana smiled and nodded her head in understanding. Then, she reached her hands forward and cupped hold of Levian's face.

Her golden eyes stared softly into his dark ones, like the contrast of day and night.

"This is what we need to do, Levian. You're not by yourself anymore. We embarked on this journey together." She spoke softly.

Levian felt his body warming up, and relaxing.

Diana was right. Levian had asked her to join him on this journey, and that was before he had even known she could awaken.

It was because they shared the same dream. Putting an end to the war between the elves and humans.

Now that they were here together, they were one large step closer towards their goal, even though thecqy still had a lontg way to go.

Levian took her hand and in his. Her skin was delicate and soft.

"I know, and I'm glad I have you here by my side."

In the human empire...

Emperor Rose sat on his throne in the darkness of the night. In front of him were two shrouded figures standing faced towards him.

Their presence pleased him.

Two fighters above the rank of high-platinum... so far, so good.

He addressed the shrouded figures in a callous voice, as if discussing the matters of weather.

"You have six months to prepare for this battle. I know that your strengths have already far exceeded mine."

These were two of the five fighters that the Emperor had chosen for the battle of peace. Two of the strongest fighters in the entirety of the human empire.

However, there were still three empty spaces, and the Emperor knew who he wished to fill one of the seats with.

"I need you to fetch me a certain man. He no longer lives in this world, but if we can have him return, victory is ours."

The two figures stirred at the request. They knew who the Emperor spoke of, and where they would be going.

"It is my son." Emperor Rose said. "I have word that he is nearing the strength of a half-god. Even if you must bring him here by force, I must have him on our side once again."
