For a heartbeat, the battlefield was silent. Even the black sea seemed to pause, holding its breath.
Then Goetia moved.
A step forward, and the ground beneath him fractured, bending time and probability into angles that should not exist. With a flick of his hand, a wheel of fire and symbols erupted around him, burning not matter, but potential.
"Ars Almadel Salomonis!"
The attack was instantaneous. Entire strands of existence around him shimmered and snapped, futures burning before they could be born. Stars winked out. Tiamat's claws swept forward, slicing through the oncoming wave.
"Nammu Kur – Sea of Endless Genesis!"
A tidal surge of pure primordial water erupted from the black sea, crashing over Goetia's attack, swallowing it in a churning maelstrom. The clash shook the battlefield to its foundations. Reality itself screamed and splintered, fragments of space folding in on themselves.
Mara hissed, floating forward. Desire and despair condensed into sharp whips of reality, striking at Tiamat's form.
"Heaven-Piercing Desire!"
The strikes grazed the black sea, cutting shallow rifts. Tiamat countered instantly, compressing the liquid around her into crystalline spikes that erupted from the ocean like jagged black mountains, impaling the whips mid-flight.
Kiara advanced next, a smirk on her face. Chains of fractured intent stretched from her fingers, each link a trap for the mind.
"Ten Thousand Colored Stagnation!"
The chains whipped around the battlefield, latching onto Tiamat's constructs and tearing at the very threads of creation. Her black sea trembled, ripples running like cracks in glass.
The Light Being raised its hands, radiance spilling outward. Sigils of law and order shimmered over the battlefield, severing the chains with searing light.
"Focus," it said. "Do not allow them to fracture your will. Strike with certainty, Mother of Seas."
Tiamat's gaze hardened. She spread her wings, black liquid rising like serpents, forming hundreds of clawed appendages and fanged mouths. "Abzu Collapse!" she roared.
The black sea compressed into a singularity, sucking in Mara and Kiara. The air bent, the void shrieking as the weight of her Authority tried to fold them into nothingness. Both screamed—not in pain, but in the horror of being conceptually crushed.
Primate Murder leapt then, claws tearing through layers of warped reality. Tiamat swung her arm, forming a massive spear of black water. "Thalassa Genesis Break!"
The spear struck the beast mid-leap. The force tore open the rift beneath its feet, swallowing it partially, yet it shrieked and wriggled free, shaking pieces of broken space off its massive body.
Tamamo Vitch appeared on the far side, tails flicking, eyes glinting. She conjured shards of warped probability, sending them tearing toward Tiamat's constructs.
The Light Being acted instantly. Streams of pure authority formed a radiant prism, stabilizing the battlefield and repairing the rifts.
"Keep moving," it urged. "They fight with concepts, but their minds are mortal. Focus your Authority."
Tiamat roared and struck again. The black sea surged, fangs snapping at Goetia's advancing flames. "Apsû Unbound – Womb of the World!"
Life, in raw, unrefined form, erupted from her Authority. Serpents, leviathans, and winged horrors made of pure primordial essence surged forward, tearing through the Beasts' attacks.
Goetia gritted his teeth, spinning his Solomonic rings. "Impressive. But still one system. We are many."
Queen Draco descended in a streak of crimson light, spear cutting through the air. "Imperial Beast: Rome Devours the World!" She struck at the black sea directly. Each hit bent space around it, warping Tiamat's constructs into fragments.
Tiamat dodged with terrifying grace, black tendrils lashing out, wrapping Draco's spear in liquid night. The impact sent a shockwave across the battlefield, breaking nearby rifts in reality.
Xyrrath's laughter echoed over the chaos. "Look at them, your little children, clawing at your ocean. Pathetic, aren't they?"
"They are not my children!" Tiamat snapped. "They are your tools! And you will not use them!"
Primate Murder lunged again, Tamamo Vitch following with her ruinous magic. Kiara unleashed her chains. Mara struck with desires made tangible. Goetia and Queen Draco combined their Authority into a spiral of annihilation and judgement, and the battlefield became a storm of unmaking.
Tiamat spun, waves of black sea forming into barriers and crushing strikes. Each blow split the air, each strike rolled reality like dough, each surge of power tore minor rifts.
"Thalassa Genesis Break!" She struck Primate Murder again, while fangs of black liquid tore at Mara. "Abzu Collapse!" She compressed the space around Kiara's chains, shattering them mid-air.
The Light Being flared at the edges, flooding the area with searing radiance. "Lux Ordinis – Lesser Authority of the First Light!"
Every concept of corruption and desire was scorched; minor abominations screamed and evaporated. Even the Beasts recoiled from the blinding order.
Xyrrath floated above it all, still grinning. "You are stronger than I expected, Sea-Mother. But so far, your waves are merely pushing back the tide."
Tiamat's black liquid surged toward him, forming thousands of clawed serpents. "Abzu Collapse – Infinite!"
The serpents lunged for Xyrrath, wrapping him in living ocean, crushing and twisting him into a singularity. He roared, tearing through her grasp with void-corrupted strength.
"Pathetic," he said, voice warping, "to think you could cage me with sea water."
The battlefield buckled under their clash. Mountains shattered. Time fractured. Rifts opened and closed in a chaotic rhythm. The Beasts surged forward again, and the war of concepts against concepts intensified.
The Light Being shouted, a beacon of calm in the storm. "Tiamat! Focus your Authority! Bend the sea into shape, or it will fracture you too!"
Tiamat's wings spread, the black ocean rising like a living storm. She glared at Xyrrath. "I will not let you touch creation. Not today. Not ever!"
The black sea surged, the Light Being's radiance flared, and the first wave of Beasts was thrown back by the combined might. But Xyrrath's smile only widened. He would not be so easily stopped.
The battlefield itself seemed to shiver. And this was only the beginning.
