Chapter 91 - Chapter 85 — The Beast

The sky tore open with a sound like wet fabric ripping.

Not thunder. Not explosion. Something uglier. A deep, dragging noise that made the broken stars flinch and bend away as a long crack split through what little remained of the battlefield's horizon.

Tiamat felt it before she saw anything come through.

It wasn't corruption.

It wasn't chaos.

It was recognition.

Something old had been called.

The tear widened, bleeding a colorless void, and figures began to step out.

The first was tall, wrapped in broken rings of light that rotated around his body like a shattered crown. His gaze was cold and distant, as if he were staring through the battlefield and into the end of all things.

"…This is not human history," he said flatly.

Goetia.

Beast I — the Beast of Oblivion.

Behind him came a soft ripple in the air, followed by a woman's shape drifting forward. Her presence was heavy in a different way—like a room filling with breath, with want, with something that pressed against the mind.

Mara.

Beast III-L.

A second figure emerged beside her, smiling.

Kiara Sessyoin's eyes swept over the battlefield, curious, amused. "Oh my. This place is… ruined."

Primal weight slammed into the field as something dropped from above. White fur, burning eyes, teeth made for tearing gods apart.

Primate Murder.

Beast IV.

Another followed, stepping lightly beside it, tails flicking, eyes sharp and calculating.

Tamamo Vitch.

Beast IV, the Lostbelt's version.

The air shifted again, wrong in a subtler way. Something was missing, like a shadow that should have been there and wasn't.

Beast V.

Unseen.

But felt.

Two more shapes stepped through.

One cloaked in burning symbols and judgment—

The Beast of Revelations.

And behind it, regal and cruel, scales catching what little light remained—

Queen Draco.

They didn't arrive as a group.

They arrived as intrusions.

Each of them paused, sensing the same thing: this wasn't their war, their timeline, or their stage.

Mara frowned. "This isn't any layer I recognize."

Goetia's gaze drifted across the warped space, the torn rifts, the black sea swirling around Tiamat. "We've been removed from the proper flow of history."

Kiara chuckled. "Abducted, then. How rude."

Primate Murder growled low in its throat. "This place stinks."

Tamamo Vitch narrowed her eyes. "Someone did this on purpose."

Then they saw him.

Xyrrath stood where the darkness was thickest, his form warping slowly, as though reality couldn't decide what shape he should be allowed to have. Rifts twisted around him like scars that refused to heal.

Queen Draco's lips curled. "You."

Xyrrath grinned.

"Oh, good. You all noticed."

Goetia raised his hand, power gathering. "You pulled us here. Undo it."

Xyrrath tilted his head. "Undo? No. That would be boring."

Mara's eyes darkened. "You ripped us out of our existence."

"Yes," Xyrrath said lightly. "I did."

The being of light beside Tiamat flared faintly, but it did not interrupt.

Xyrrath looked over the gathered Beasts with open interest.

"You're not people," he continued. "You're ideas wearing flesh. Humanity's failures given names and teeth."

Kiara smiled. "Flattering."

"I brought you," Xyrrath said, "because this battlefield needs things that don't care about rules."

Goetia's expression hardened. "You are not our master."

"No," Xyrrath agreed. "I'm your opportunity."

He gestured toward Tiamat.

Toward the endless black sea.

Toward the wounded goddess holding it together.

"Look at her," he said. "A creator bleeding into her own work."

Something shifted in the Beasts.

They could feel it.

A realm older than humanity.

A power that didn't belong to their system.

Mara's gaze flicked toward Tiamat. "That thing… is vast."

"Hungry, too," Xyrrath said softly. "Just pretending it isn't."

Tiamat stepped forward, her presence rolling through the field like a rising tide.

"Xyrrath," she said, voice cold. "You dragged them here to throw at me."

"Of course," he replied. "Why waste good monsters?"

The Beasts didn't move yet.

They were thinking.

And that was what made it dangerous.

Goetia spoke again, quieter now. "You are not of this structure."

Xyrrath's smile widened. "Exactly."

The air grew heavy.

Tiamat felt every one of them beginning to decide whether this fight was worth turning into their own.

And for the first time since the battle began, she wasn't just facing Xyrrath.

She was standing before the Evils of Humanity themselves.
