Chapter 15 - Uchiha Stronghold

Fugaku POV

As I stepped into the forest, my eyes fall on the workers. Rows of people were moving in perfect coordination under genjutsu, their movements steady and tireless.

Wood was being carried, stone was being shaped, and metal frameworks were being assembled. What stood before me was the foundation of a factory.

A clansman rushed toward me and bowed deeply.

"Patriarch Fugaku," he said respectfully. "Hikaku Uchiha has found the woman you asked us to locate."

For a moment, I was stunned. Then a slow smile spread across my face.

"Oh?" I muttered. "Has the goddess of fortune finally smiled upon me today?"

I nodded. "Take me to him."

As we moved forward, we passed through the outer barrier. The illusion peeled away like a curtain, revealing the true sight hidden beneath.

Hundreds of people were working together, constructing a massive castle that would serve as our stronghold. In just three days, it was already one-quarter complete.

…Impressive.

I glanced at the Uchiha beside me.

"You aren't working them to death, are you?" I asked calmly.

Cold sweat appeared on his forehead.

"N-No, Patriarch!" he replied quickly. "We are working alongside them as well."

I nodded in approval. With ten elite jonin level ninjas assisting, progress like this was only natural.

"Has anything unusual been noticed?" I asked.

"No," he answered hesitantly.

I paused, then continued walking.

"…Those two pampered princesses," I muttered. "We're building a military base right under their noses, and they haven't noticed a thing."

The clansman hesitated, then spoke carefully.

"I don't know about supernatural but the common people believe this factory will bring economic growth to the town." He said a little embarrassed.

I couldn't help but smile faintly.

I understood his thoughts. Due to the influence of transmigrators, our clan was extremely short on funds. To bypass that issue, we had confiscated gold and silver from criminals in this town.

Also the civilians who are working on building this stronghold believed they were being paid enormous wages through illusion, but in reality, we only covered food, water, and basic necessities.

I looked at the workers and can only apologise in my heart.

When I entered the chamber containing the portal, many clansmen immediately saluted me before returning to their duties.

Crates were lined up in rows which contains Modern explosives, Refined iron, Copper and other valuable materials.

Even High-quality cloth, long-lasting preserved food, Refrigeration units and even common Electronic devices where inside them.

All of it was being transported through the portal.

For a moment, my heart nearly stopped.

I walked forward and opened one of the sealed crates. Inside were iron components, perfectly suitable for melting and reforging into weapons.

"…I told you to take only a little," I said slowly. "Why does it look like you robbed the entire town?"

The clansmen looked embarrassed. Then one of them spoke firmly.

"Lord Patriarch, this is necessary for war."

My eye twitched.

If this much wealth disappeared all at once, the town's economy would collapse. But then again—

This town was under Sona and Rias's administration. They would deal with the consequences.

I turned to Hikaku Uchiha as he stepped forward and handed me a photograph.

It showed a woman with black hair, standing inside a church her eyes were lifeless a clear sign of being under illusion.

Good.

"You've informed her," I said calmly. "Rias Gremory, the heiress of the Gremory household, will come here soon." "This will be the best opportunity to eliminate her."

Hikaku nodded without hesitation.

In the past three days, I had made it very clear to them— This world was dangerous. And they were to take every order seriously and if they encountered an enemy then use ultimate move from the start.
