UK:GSW Chapter 421 – Reshaping Madara's View of the World

Uchiha Madara's mentality collapsed.

After all, anyone who discovered that what they had believed to be true and the ideals they had clung to were in fact false—a lie deliberately constructed—would have a mental breakdown.

Especially when that lie had driven Madara to charge headlong down the wrong path, turn against his best friend, suffer decades in the shadows, twist his very sense of self, and commit countless wrongs—it became even harder to accept.

Although Madara was not the kind of man with a soft heart, nor one to apologize for his past deeds, his prideful nature meant that once he regained his former composure and thought about how he had been deceived into doing so many terrible things—things now known to many—while people were standing right beside him… that mix of anger at being deceived and shame was an extreme, socially fatal humiliation. It shattered his defenses completely.

Even though he had already learned from Senju Hashirama's lingering will that he had been deceived, back then he had only half believed it. More importantly, knowing some things and knowing everything are two entirely different matters. Now, with the full picture, his mentality had been blown apart and utterly broken.

Truth be told, Madara now had the urge to end it all. Saying "disheartened" didn't even begin to describe his mental collapse.

Of course, Uchiha Kei had no intention of letting Madara die. He still expected this "Shura of the Ninja World" to work for him for a long, long time.

And not just exist—Madara had to live on as a living man, not an undead, serving as a top-level combat force in the future battle against the Otsutsuki Clan.

Although Madara's strength—even as Six Paths Madara—had already been outclassed by the time Otsutsuki Isshiki appeared in the Boruto era, that didn't mean he was doomed to remain only that strong.

Given the right conditions and environment, Madara could still grow stronger, to the point of single-handedly taking on Isshiki. That wasn't an impossible task.

So Uchiha Kei had no desire to see Madara lose his fighting spirit.

What?

Wasn't Kei being a hypocrite by letting Madara off after all the terrible things he'd done? After all, Kei treated Uchiha Obito and Uchiha Itachi—both war criminals—far more harshly.

Well… is it possible that the Madara who committed those crimes was from "World No. 2," while the "Main World" Madara had been distracted by an illusion game before he went down the dark path, and his fate had diverged entirely?

If you really wanted to count Madara's war crimes, the only thing on the list would be bringing the Nine Tails to attack the Hidden Leaf Village decades ago—which failed, as he was immediately beaten down by Hashirama.

That was all part of Madara's act, but in terms of sheer power, back then he truly wasn't a match for Hashirama.

Other than that, Madara hadn't committed any great crimes against the Leaf.

Compared to a blackened Obito or Uchiha Itachi—both ungrateful traitors—Madara, despite being the "main villain," was practically a paragon of kindness.

Thus, not only Uchiha Kei, but even Namikaze Minato and the others merely regarded Madara with caution, without much hostility. If Madara truly abandoned the Eye of the Moon Plan and joined the Leaf's current camp, everyone would welcome him warmly.

This was Uchiha Madara, after all—a man whose talent and power were among the very best in the ninja world. Even in old age, he was not to be underestimated.

Moreover, the method to restore Madara's youth and peak strength was already laid out clearly in the original Naruto series.

Worst case, there was always the Heroic Spirit Summoning method, which could also restore Madara's peak state.

Of course, given the need to fight the Otsutsuki, becoming a Heroic Spirit was not ideal—after all, Heroic Spirits could only maintain their peak power; they could not grow stronger.

In fact, once Kei confirmed that "World No. 2" was on track with the Boruto storyline, he had already decided to find a way to revive all the Heroic Spirits in the mental network one by one.

On the original Naruto Shippuden timeline, the Heroic Spirits' strength would be more than enough, even able to dominate the world, as long as they could handle Kaguya Otsutsuki's family.

However, if the timeline advanced into the Boruto era's absurdly inflated power levels, the current strength would no longer be sufficient.

Others might not know, but Kei was well aware of how broken that era's power scale was. On the surface, its fight scenes looked less impressive than early Shippuden, but the abilities were absurdly overpowered.

That was only because Boruto's author's drawing ability couldn't match Kishimoto's, making the battles feel less intense. But once all of it became reality, there would be no such issue—the overpowered monsters of the Boruto era would display terrifying, overwhelming pressure.

Just thinking about those "made-up-on-a-whim" overpowered abilities gave Kei the urge to rant that Boruto wasn't Naruto at all—it had turned into a Marvel/DC-style mess.

Since he was already connected to "World No. 2" and had decided to cooperate deeply with its Hidden Leaf, there was no avoiding Boruto's plot. The terrifying Otsutsuki enemies would have to be dealt with.

Planning ahead and preparing early—that was Kei's mindset.

In fact, Kei wasn't only preparing to revive Madara. He was also ready to bring back Heroic Spirits like Hashirama as living beings, since the current Heroic Spirit strength might still be insufficient to handle the Otsutsuki.

Of course, if Kei could keep upgrading his system permissions and let the Heroic Spirits grow stronger with him, perhaps they would be able to fight the Otsutsuki in the future.

After all, who could say what the future would hold?

For now, the priority was to calm Madara down—at the very least, to keep the old man from doing anything rash.

So Kei smiled and said, "Madara-senpai, there's no need to dwell on it. After all, you're not the only one Black Zetsu deceived—in fact, you could say the entire ninja world has been fooled by him."

Madara's cold gaze fell on Kei. "So what are you trying to say, young Uchiha?"

Kei kept smiling. "What I'm saying is—our world's Black Zetsu is still alive. Don't you want to personally take revenge for being deceived?"

At that, Madara fell silent, though the killing intent and agitation in his eyes grew stronger—not directed at Kei, but at Black Zetsu.

Seeing this, Kei maintained his smile and waited quietly for Madara to speak.

After a tense staring contest that lasted a while, Madara finally spoke. "Young Uchiha, what do you want me to do?"

Kei smiled. "Madara-senpai, it's not about what I want you to do—it's about what you want to do. Everything you've done has simply been your own way of trying to bring lasting peace to the ninja world."

"But what I want to tell you is—true eternal peace can't exist. And even if it did, it would only lead the ninja world into a slow death, leaving it completely defenseless when a real crisis comes."

Madara frowned. "What do you mean, young Uchiha? Are you saying that the ideals Hashirama and I pursued were wrong?"

His voice was cold and hoarse—truly angry now. After all, Kei's words were essentially denying Madara's lifelong goal, as well as Hashirama's great ideal.

Kei shook his head. "No, I never said your ideals—or Hashirama-senpai's—were wrong. In fact, your ideals were great and beautiful. In this chaotic ninja world, they were undoubtedly a breath of fresh air, worthy of admiration."

Hearing this, Madara's anger eased slightly—only for Kei's tone to suddenly shift.

"It's just that this cruel world doesn't allow peace to last forever. Even if the Eye of the Moon Plan succeeded, you'd merely turn all of humanity into biological weapons like White Zetsu. And even if you used another method to achieve long-lasting peace, letting the people enjoy it… the end result would still be destruction."

"Because enemies from beyond this world won't give the ninja world a chance to remain in eternal peace."

Madara looked stunned, almost bewildered.

It was like the world discussing peace after World War II, only for someone to suddenly say, "Earth can't be peaceful, or aliens will come elbow-drop it." It sounded like pure science fiction or fantasy nonsense.

That was exactly how Madara felt—like he'd misheard Kei, or that there was some massive mental gap between them preventing understanding.

Kei simply smiled. "Madara-senpai, remember the intel you saw about Black Zetsu? He's the third son of Kaguya Otsutsuki—the true progenitor of chakra, and the mother of the Sage of the Six Paths."

"So where do you think Kaguya, the progenitor of chakra, came from? Do you believe such a being was born naturally in the ninja world?"

Madara frowned slightly, his mind already churning.

After a long pause, he looked at Kei and asked in a deep voice, "You're saying… Kaguya came from beyond the ninja world?"

Kei nodded and said slowly, "Kaguya Otsutsuki—the Rabbit Goddess—was a god from beyond the heavens, the progenitor of chakra, the source of all chakra. That was her identity and legend a thousand years ago."

"In those ignorant times, anything from beyond the world was considered 'from the heavens.'"

"So here's the question—if there's one Kaguya Otsutsuki, could there be others like her? And what would such 'gods' think of the ninja world?"

At Kei's words, Madara's fists clenched involuntarily as he followed the train of thought.

But before he could fully piece it together, Kei continued, "If you wanted to be naive and hopeful, you could imagine that Kaguya's kin were kind and friendly, ready to bring blessings to the ninja world."

"But as I said—that's a naive and beautiful fantasy."

"In reality, based on the intel I've obtained, the Otsutsuki Clan are an incredibly terrifying race—a cancer of the multiverse, traveling through countless worlds and consuming all life."

"Whenever they find a world rich in life, they plant a God Tree, which absorbs the life force of the entire world."

"When that world is completely drained and dead, the tree produces a chakra fruit. The Otsutsuki who planted it eats the fruit, gains its power, and abandons the dead world to search for the next."

"The ninja world is one such world—and yes, it's already had a God Tree planted. And what is the God Tree, Madara-senpai? Since you awakened the Rinnegan and, under Black Zetsu's guidance, obtained the Ten Tails, you should know very well."

Madara's pupils trembled. "…The Ten Tails… came from that?"

Disbelief. Shock. The feeling that it was absurd. A heavy heart. Like being in a dream.

All these emotions tangled together, making him wonder if he was in a genjutsu. Otherwise, how could he be hearing such outrageous information?

But deep down, Madara believed it.

Sometimes, when something is too outrageous, it paradoxically makes people more likely to think it's true.

Of course, that was only because Kei said it. If anyone else had, Madara wouldn't believe it. But Kei had already proven his credibility with unique intel earlier, so his words carried weight.

And precisely because they were credible, Madara found them harder to accept.

Not only was his lifelong ideal now a joke—he was being told that aliens were eyeing the ninja world, monstrously powerful ones who used entire worlds' life force to grow God Tree fruits.

What the hell was wrong with this world? Why so much oppression?

Wasn't the ninja world bad enough? Now there were aliens too? That was just excessive!

Kei, utterly calm at Madara's worldview shattering, shrugged. "I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's the truth—and it's the real origin of chakra. By the way, in another ninja world, when Kaguya descended here, she wasn't alone—there was another Otsutsuki with her, even stronger than she was."

Yet another bombshell to rock Madara's mind.

If Kei's system ran on collecting "shock points," this would have been a windfall.
