UK:GSW Chapter 420 – Uchiha Madara: This Is Bad… I'm Starting to Understand Everything

Uchiha Madara keenly caught the hint of amusement in Uchiha Kei's eyes.

Although Kei managed to hold it in and didn't laugh aloud, that urge to laugh still flashed across his gaze for a brief moment.

Well, it couldn't be helped—Madara's current appearance really did have a certain plump and comical charm to it.

If he were just a bit fatter and younger, he could practically cosplay Taishang Laojun from Nezha's teacher, Taiyi Zhenren.

It had to be said—weight really could affect a person's aura. Even the great Shinobi Shura couldn't fully carry an image he wasn't suited for.

Madara, of course, had no idea where the humor lay, so he couldn't understand why Kei would show even the faintest smile.

This made Madara sink into another round of mental calculations. Soon, through his own speculation, he reached a conclusion—

Kei must be deliberately showing off his information network!

After all, Kei had just openly implied that he knew who Madara was. And now this reaction must also be intentional—to let Madara know he had a mysterious and powerful intel network, enough to discover Madara's existence.

But how exactly had he found out?

Could it be… that Black Zetsu had leaked his information?

Yes—that would make sense. If Black Zetsu really was, as Hashirama had said, the third son of Ōtsutsuki Kaguya and intended to make Madara into her vessel, then secretly revealing Madara's existence to someone who could threaten him would be perfectly logical.

After all, Madara stood at the pinnacle of the shinobi world. Even if Black Zetsu had successfully deceived him, he would surely have other backup plans to ensure Madara ended up as a vessel.

And to reach that goal, leaking information in small ways was to be expected—like quietly telling someone dangerous that Madara was still alive.

"Hmph! Black Zetsu… you really are a wretched thing."

Though thinking this inwardly, Madara didn't reveal it on his face. Instead, he said in a proud tone,

"That's right. I am Uchiha Madara—the ghost of the Uchiha. Uchiha junior, I have long known of you, and I have long anticipated this meeting."

He didn't bother asking Kei how he had learned of his existence—keeping up his own mystique was more important at this moment.

Madara's words were aimed straight at Kei.

Kei only smiled in response. "I've been looking forward to meeting you as well, Madara-senpai. After all, you were once the most exceptional of our clan, and you even awakened the Rinnegan. Though you were already old when you did so, it was still an unprecedented feat—making you the first person in the shinobi world besides the Sage of Six Paths to awaken the Rinnegan."

Madara fell silent again. Then his crimson Sharingan locked on Kei. "You seem to know quite a lot. Where did you get this information? Did Black Zetsu tell you?"

Kei raised an eyebrow, thought briefly, and said seriously, "If I had to answer directly… yes, Black Zetsu did tell me quite a lot."

After all, he'd thoroughly dug into Black Zetsu's intel—though it had been the Black Zetsu of World No. 2, the information it held was considerable, and much of it applied to the main world as well, including things never shown in the original series.

Still, Kei was puzzled as to why Madara would suddenly ask such a question.

Wasn't he here to join forces against Black Zetsu? Why suddenly imply Black Zetsu had cooperated with him?

Thinking this, Kei decided not to play coy. "Madara-senpai, you're not thinking that I'm working with Black Zetsu… are you?"

Madara only stared at him silently, as if weighing something.

Kei met his gaze and said earnestly, "Madara-senpai, I may be a man who enjoys a bit of mischief and is willing to work with all sorts of people… but there are some I will never cooperate with.

"Black Zetsu, for example. I'd rather capture him and dig out the secrets he's hiding."

"In fact, I've already done just that—and pulled out quite a lot of secrets."

Madara's eyes widened. "What do you mean? You've already captured Black Zetsu?"

Kei nodded… then shook his head, leaving Madara confused.

"I have captured a Black Zetsu," Kei clarified, "but not the one you know. This one is from another shinobi world."

Madara froze, a look of puzzlement crossing his face. "Another… shinobi world?"

For an old shinobi traditionalist like Madara, even with his vast power and experience, his actual knowledge was limited. Concepts like "parallel worlds" were far too advanced for him—he had never even heard of such a thing.

So when Kei mentioned another world and another Black Zetsu, his mind filled with question marks, suspecting Kei was trying to fool him.

Of course, there was some misdirection involved—but much of what Kei said was the truth.

Smiling, Kei explained the concept of parallel worlds in simple, easy-to-understand terms.

Even so, Madara's aged mind still held a degree of rigidity. It took quite a while—and considerable frustration—before he grasped what Kei was saying. And when he did, his shock and disbelief grew, making him think Kei was still bluffing.

For Madara, such talk was as fantastical as myths and legends—impossible to take at face value.

Kei had expected this. After all, without seeing it firsthand, who would believe it?

That was why Kei only wanted to spark doubt and interest—so that when the time came to take Madara to see for himself, he would be cooperative rather than resistant.

"Madara-senpai," Kei said with a smile, "would you like to see it with your own eyes? No matter how much I say, if you don't witness it yourself, you won't believe me, will you?"

Madara was silent for a long moment before raising his head and locking eyes with Kei. "Then let me see it, Uchiha's great sage."

Addressing Kei with that widely recognized title was Madara's way of declaring his resolve to witness the truth.

Kei immediately sent a message to Minato Namikaze.

The moment Minato—already prepared—received it, he used the Flying Raijin Jutsu to teleport to Kei's side.

Seeing Minato appear, Madara narrowed his eyes. Minato nodded slightly to Kei, then smiled at Madara. "Madara-senpai, I'll be taking you to a place that connects to another shinobi world. Please cooperate and do not resist."

Madara stared at Minato in silence, then looked back to Kei.

"I'll be going with you," Kei assured him with a smile.

Madara's silence deepened. He felt as if every move of his had been anticipated and accounted for—an unsettling thought.

But Madara was still Madara. Restored in spirit, he feared no danger. After a brief pause, he nodded his agreement.

Without resistance, he let Minato teleport him and Kei to the underground Dragon Vein in Rōran.

There, the stabilized portal was already prepared, with Orochimaru and Sasori waiting.

Notably absent was the mostly-girl-shaped Senju Tobirama—who refused to come greet Madara, fearing he wouldn't be able to stop himself from fighting him.

In this setting, Madara saw Orochimaru and Sasori, as well as their puppet bodies.

Curiosity stirred in him, his mind spinning faster than ever.

Orochimaru and Sasori, for their part, were respectful. Madara was undeniably strong—a shinobi world warlord. Though his plump frame dulled some of his sharp edge, it also spoke of good living and robust health.

Minato, seeing Madara's current build, thought that the Shinobi Shura must be in excellent health—after all, it was astounding for someone his age to carry so much weight.

Orochimaru and Sasori shared the same thought. Though they knew from modern biology that obesity wasn't necessarily healthy, the difference in shinobi physiology—and the Akimichi Clan's example—led them to believe Madara wasn't fat by shinobi standards.

To be "fat" in the shinobi world, one had to weigh over 300 jin—like the supersized figures common in the country of Amerikā.

By that measure, Madara was merely "slightly chubby."

In this cordial atmosphere, they brought Madara through the portal into Shinobi World No. 2.

The environment was much like the main world, so the crossing itself didn't feel special. To convince him, other evidence was needed.

The first step was introducing him to this world's Nagato and Konan.

Madara knew the trio well—Nagato had been chosen by him to host and nurture the Rinnegan, the original tool for his own resurrection. Naturally, he was very familiar with Nagato and his associates.

At first, seeing them grown, Madara didn't recognize them. But once he did, his heart skipped several beats—the first time he truly began to grasp what "another shinobi world" meant.

Still, full belief required more proof.

So they took Madara around the second world, letting him see its lands and speak with its people to gather information.

By the time he'd confirmed the reality of this second world, he had grown ever more silent. Then they returned him to the Rōran portal in the main world—and brought him face-to-face with Shinobi World No. 2's Black Zetsu.

He saw it bound and restrained, utterly under control.

At first, Black Zetsu didn't recognize Madara—after all, his current look was nothing like the one in its memories.

It wasn't until Madara spoke that recognition hit—and Black Zetsu was stunned, unable to believe it.

This Black Zetsu, a high-profile prisoner, knew nothing of the main world—not even its existence—still thinking it had been captured by some Ōtsutsuki.

So when it realized the mysterious plump man was Madara, it was bewildered as to why he was "alive" again.

Still, it didn't stop it from seizing the chance to beg for rescue, pledging loyalty and asking Madara to free it.

Madara only stared in silence, shock in his cold eyes—because this was not his Black Zetsu, but one from a parallel world.

Next, they showed him all the intel extracted from this Black Zetsu—laying bare every secret it had tried to hide.

When those secrets were forcibly revealed before his eyes, this Black Zetsu fell into total despair, knowing everything was over.

And Madara… his expression turned dark as still water, his body radiating boundless killing intent and agitation.

For this meant one thing—

That the great Shinobi Shura, the battlefield rose who had dominated the shinobi world… had been played like a fool from beginning to end!
