Selene~
The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that I wasn't dead, which was quite surprising if you were me.
It certainly felt like I was going to die.
The second thing I noticed was that while everything hurt, nothing was broken.
The third thing I noticed was Cassidy lying on the other side of the bed and Christopher was dozed off on a chair.
The room was not familiar. The windows were to tall that they almost stretched to the ceiling. The chair Chris was on looked expensive and the bed was so soft, I knew I couldn't afford it in this lifetime.
At least not anymore.
Christopher stirred in his seat, and I thought he was simply adjusting his position but then he opened his eyes. I saw his shoulders relax when he noticed that I was awake.
"You're awake," he said as he jolted up and pulled the chair towards the bed.
"You slept there?"
He finally reached the edge of the bed and sat back in his chair. He smiled at me.
