"I don't attend secret classes," Clarissa defended softly. "I only play the violin whenever I'm bored. I'm not even performing."
"You shouldn't even think about it—no matter how bored you are," Leah cut in sharply. "I thought I destroyed this once!"
"Mom—"
"Don't you dare say another word!" Leah raised her palm in the air. "Are you being reckless, foolish, or deliberately rebellious?"
Clarissa's face soured. She knew how much her family despised the entertainment world, fearing anything tied to it could taint their business reputation.
"You know your grandfather won't take you seriously the day he finds out about this," Leah continued, her voice tight with raw concern and fear. "You are the heiress who must stay far away from such a harsh world."
"…Okay," Clarissa nodded, reaching out her hand. "Can I have it back? I won't use it again."
Leah picked it up first and then shot her a non-negotiable glare. "This will stay with me."
