Zane stood at her feet, looming, breath uneven—but not nearly as strained as Selina, whose lungs felt like they might cave in. She couldn't remember the last time she exercised properly; her stamina had clearly abandoned her this evening.
Even after chasing her, he looked disturbingly composed.
Her stomach dropped.
"Let's make things simple," she snapped breathlessly, still lying on the cool floor. "Call the HR manager and finalize my job. I'll erase the scandal."
Zane glared down at her. "You don't understand what you've started. Erasing such an article about me won't erase curiosity." His jaw flexed. "So I'll resolve this my way."
Selina's brows pulled together. "What way? And don't think forcing me to delete it will work. I won't delete anything until you give me what I want." Her face darkened when she saw him step toward her again.
"Do you have proof?" he growled, his furious eyes pierced into hers as if he'd burn her down. "of me sleeping with Maura? Us on a bed?"
