Chapter 163 - Chapter 162: Go Wherever Kahn Goes

After taking Kahn's advice to heart, Aang decided to return to the Eastern Air Temple and continue learning how to control the Avatar State under Guru Pathik.

With a little over a month before the Day of Black Sun—the agreed-upon date for the invasion—Team Avatar quickly found themselves with new responsibilities once Aang set off again.

For example, Iroh handed the job of coordinating with the Earth Kingdom straight to Katara and Sokka.

"Considering my age, I might as well enjoy a few more days of leisure," Iroh said with a chuckle.

Part of this was to give the younger generation more experience.

The other part was simply that he didn't enjoy this kind of work nearly as much as he enjoyed running his newly reopened tea shop—The Jasmine Dragon.

Kahn had complained that the name sounded like something a chuunibyou teenager would think of, but Iroh personally loved it.

Of course, while Iroh delegated the mission, he also told Katara and Sokka they could consult him anytime.

"Don't worry, we won't disappoint you," Katara replied.

Sokka was especially excited. Getting to help plan an invasion against the Fire Nation? This was basically his dream job.

On the other side, Toph also had her own plans. She said to everyone:

"I'm going back to talk to my parents."

Even though the letter that lured her home had been fake, hearing Katara and Sokka talk about their time with their father stirred something in her.

And with more than a month until the eclipse, she wouldn't be of much use staying in Ba Sing Se.

After thinking it over, she decided it was time to go home and face her parents properly.

"Are you going back alone? Or should I go with you?" Katara asked, worried.

"No need. Even though I'm blind, I 'see' things very clearly," Toph said with a smirk.

"Besides, I'm not alone. I'm planning to go back with the two idiots my parents hired to kidnap me—they're still locked up."

She struck a strong pose and grinned.

"Don't worry. No one can cage me now. Even if something goes wrong, I can still walk away."

Considering she had mastered both Earthbending and Metalbending, she was absolutely qualified to say that.

Meanwhile, Kahn wasn't planning to stay in the city forever either. With a month of free time, he already had a destination in mind.

But the place was far, and Aang had taken Appa. Walking there would take too long.

Thankfully, he had an alternative.

"Even though this is a parallel world, based on what I've seen so far… they should still exist."

Sitting cross-legged, Kahn let his soul slip away from his body and cross into the Spirit World.

The moment he arrived at a familiar spot and saw four familiar floating figures flapping around happily, he couldn't help smiling.

"Hello there."

—

"Let me introduce them. This is East, South, West, and North. My new companions."

Kahn presented his friends to the group.

Though they were the same spirits as the ones in his original world, he used Heavenly Stem names from his past life to distinguish them from the originals.

But Aang wasn't here, and among the people present, only Iroh could see the spirits—meaning he was the only one staring wide-eyed in shock.

That changed immediately when a huge, magnificent Dragon Bird materialized in front of the entire group.

Everyone froze.

Sokka was so scared he fell straight on his ass.

"Spirits?!"

"Greetings, humans," East, South, West, and North said in a deep, regal voice.

They all bowed instinctively.

"Kahn, what is happening?" Katara whispered, afraid to anger the spirit.

She and Sokka had seen spirits get pissed off before. They wanted no part of that again.

"No need to be so nervous. East, South, West, and North is very easygoing," Kahn said, smiling. He briefly explained his history with them.

When the group learned that Kahn had met them and become companions with their counterparts very early in his own world, they were stunned. Iroh sighed softly.

"It's hard to imagine what your world is like."

Meanwhile, Ty Lee had fearlessly approached East, South, West, and North and struck up a conversation.

"Are you East, South, West, and North? I'm Ty Lee! Wow, you're beautiful."

And just as Kahn claimed, East, South, West, and North was extremely friendly—especially toward kind, cheerful girls like Ty Lee.

By the time Kahn finished talking, Ty Lee was already sitting on East, South, West, and North's back, giggling happily.

Seeing that, the others also tried to communicate with East, South, West, and North. Kahn simply watched them with a pleased smile.

At the same time, he explained his plans.

"I'm heading to the Ancient Sun Warrior Ruins next."

Now that he had East, South, West, and North, transportation was no longer a problem.

And the ruins were a place he absolutely needed to visit—he had long wanted to see the true form of the Fire Dragon.

Kahn's strength was unquestionable. Even if he traveled alone, no one would worry.

But then, when Ty Lee heard he was heading out, she suddenly raised her hand.

"Kahn! Can I go with you?"

"You?" Kahn blinked, unsure why she wanted to come.

Ty Lee sEast, South, West, and Northng her legs and said, "It's boring here! Mai isn't playing with me right now, and I have nothing to do. So why not come explore with you?"

Mai's eyes narrowed.

I'm not playing with you? Really? You dare say that?

Mai glared at her sharply. Ty Lee immediately pressed her hands together like she was praying, silently begging her not to expose her actual motives.

Kahn, completely oblivious to the silent girl-battle happening beside him, hesitated for another reason—he knew the Ancient Sun Warriors didn't want too many outsiders knowing about their tribe.

But after seeing Iroh nod at him in approval, Kahn relaxed.

"Alright. We'll go together."
