Chapter 60 - Unclaimed laboratory

"East..? Why is he here?" Yurina couldn't take her eyes off the man staked against the highest part of the wall. Some of the medical supplies were torn off, dripping clear liquid down the wall.

"I guess I must clarify, as for reasons why there's an East from 2000 years back, you can probably assume the method I have used." Roland turned to look at Yurina. He then began to approach the wall, and as he approached the wall slowly, Yurina finally replied.

"The Panacea of Immortality? That serum that makes every single cell in a person's body eternally regenerate, leaving the person to not be able to age."

Roland smiled as if he was pleased upon the answer. He then took out a vial.

"Part of the reason why I kept him alive, although I wasn't the one who 'killed' him, nor massacred the entire squadron of North Division combatants, which was the work of the Sanguine Light's Sanguinists." Roland let out a small sigh, turning back to Yurina as he began to lean on the wall, he then fidgeted the vial, playing with the liquid inside. The liquid inside was strange, it was moving as if it was inside a lava lamp, except there's nothing but air and the black liquid.

"The Compass Treaty has ownership of this property, or more specifically, this East right here bought this laboratory personally all those years back."

Yurina raised an eyebrow before turning her expression into a frown.

"To elaborate, because this laboratory is the personal property of East, that also means no one has access to this laboratory, simply because of clearance, neither does the North, South, West and even East of this current time has the clearance or permission to access this single personal property of the East right here, no matter how long ago this East has been missing for."

Roland then started to laugh, "The Regulator's Committee, nor The Jurisdiction Court, Azure Family, even the newer organizations like the Alsaia Syndicate can access this place, or they could but that'll risk a war." He then walked a couple steps forward.

"There is also a keen detail, every Compass Rose member, including the Intercardinal directions, have a ID card of sorts, this ID card is able to determine whether or not the Compass Rose member is dead, which in turn, sends a message to the other Compass Rose members a message of sorts through a red light emitting from their own ID card that signals them that one of them has died." He then whispered to Yurina in a smug smile.

"Due to East right here being the original East, that means every East after is only a shadow, impartial power over the East Division, being named East, being included in the Compass Rose, yet not holding the full authority like the East here."

He then laughed once again, his laughter sounding forced, echoing through the basement.

"I am quite aware of you wanting to send that 'SOS' signal, but that was only an excuse right? You were completely aware that there were no such 'computers' anywhere here."

Yurina hesitated, her hands became sweatier every second upon that simple accusation. She then let out a quiet exhale, smiling lightly.

"So what if I was lying? Well, we both need Satoya don't we? I need him because I have an experiment in mind, that I have attempted 14 times, and I believe that the blood of a Truth Seeker is the solution." She said.

Roland chuckled, shaking his head, then turned back at the staked man on the wall. He then threw the vial, exploding upon hitting East's head.

He looked back at Yurina, gently placing his hands delicately back into his lab coat's pocket.

"You want more people to come here right?"

Yurina paused, watching as East's head began to pulsate uncontrollably, until his head exploded into many bits, obviously ending the life of the man who had the unfortunate fate of being immortal.

"There, now that the 98th East is no longer alive, that means that this laboratory is no longer under the protection of any organization."

Yurina backed up, progressively becoming even more annoyed. She then let out a forced sigh, turning around and started to walk to the staircase that leads back up to the laboratory. While she was going up the stairs, she mumbled disdainfully.

"That bastard.. What is he planning? Whatever… I doubt it'll impact my goal. I. Will. Bring. Her. Back."

Meanwhile, in the 3rd Capital's Gungnir country, were two individuals seated on a round table that looked exactly like a compass rose that would be seen on a map. One of which was specifically seated in the North direction of the compass.

The man had brown hair, his eyes were crimson, with his hands being covered in scars, but he seemed to be extremely powerful. Considering he had a compass rose mark on his sleeve, with the direction North being colored in gold. He appeared to be rather exhausted, and started to lean back on his chair, placing his left arm over his face. Another small detail was how below the compass rose insignia on his arm, was a small tag, labelled:

North of The Compass Rose

Requiem Rank 4 Regulator.

The man let out an exhausted sigh before speaking, "do what you want, send your own South Division members, I have too much paperwork to take care of, if you want my Division Regulators, then go ask me later." He appeared to be speaking to a woman sitting on the far end of the compass rose, pointing south.

"Well then, I simply requested some soldiers or Regulators, since I'd like to claim that unclaimed laboratory for research."

The woman had extremely dark purple hair, with her grey eyes glaring at North rather patiently. She wore simple business casual clothes, with an insignia exactly like the man in front of her, except the South direction was colored. She then stood up from her chair and proceeded to exit the large room.

The man was the only person remaining in the room, proceeding to place his arm on the table, then resting on his hand.

"After 2000 years, after 249 Norths before me, the East from that long ago was finally killed.. I find it weird, why did he suddenly die after being missing for that long?"
