Il Ji looked at his watch. It was 4:30. Laying down again, he matched the Two-Headed Chicken and began to soak up the skills.
Luckily, after two hours work, he had the skill he needed and not the one he didn't.
He put the chicken cage back into the adjacent room and set aside the [Elastic Frog] to stare at.
Checking with the man at the door, he asked for further paralysis.
In short order, the master butler, Alfredo, arrived alongside a skinny young servant.
"This is Barry." He intoned. "Barry has a Three-Eyed Caterpillar. It is at the Iron Level, and can send Copper Beasts to sleep for a length of four hours each. Is this acceptable for your needs?"
"Yes, he should be." Il Ji replied. "Barry, I have the beast set aside in the other room for you to look at."
Barry summoned the caterpillar onto his sleeve and sent the frog to sleep. Then, he turned around and left the room.
"Barry will be replacing the servant I have posted outside your door. If you need anything else, please let him know."
"Thank you once again, Master Butler."
Alfredo smiled and closed the double doors.
Il Ji went and resumed his staring contest. However, since the frog's eyes were closed, it was more of a not-staring contest.
Il Ji kept the position for another hour and half. This time he was in luck! It was [Elastic Brain], one of the three skills on his list.
He immediately moved the [Elastic Frog] back and replaced it with the [Golden Kitten].
After calling Barry over, he waited another session and "-YES!"
It was an instant success. Hurriedly, he once again replaced the beast- this time with a [Scheming Lizard].
This beast was by far the rarest and most expensive of the three. He could only thank Sebastian later for his help.
After calling Barry back in, Il Ji quickly set his timer. It was taking him slightly less than an hour and a half each time, but it was fairly close in standard.
He only had two more sessions for tonight. If he pushed it, he could do three; that being said, he also needed to get some sleep so that he could take Laila to the party tomorrow.
This time, he splayed his arms and legs so that he could copy the [Scheming Lizard]. Crossing his fingers for a moment that he would once again make a hole-in-one, he once again started a [Mimic] session.
An hour and a half later, he slammed his fists against the floor. He had gotten [Semi-Strengthened Nails] instead.
He fell back into position and gave his holo a verbal command to reset his alarm.
.....Another hour and a half passed by. Il Ji checked his soul space. He had received [Bite]. Shaking his head, he decided to give it one more try before he went back home.
So it was that he waited.
Feeling the warmth again, Il Ji rolled over to his side and stretched. Standing up, he made his way over to the door and approached Barry, who was beginning to nod off.
"Sir!" He nearly shouted, standing up to attention. "How can I help?"
"Well, Barry, that depends. Once I check my soul space, all shall be revealed to us."
Il Ji put his fingers on either side of his head and checked his soul space as if he was a guru.
It was there, in bright and infitesimate glory, that he found the final shred of destiny he had been looking for as the night had begun to take the day. [Memory Memorial].
He brought his hands down to his side and spoke slowly, giving off somewhat of a grim atmosphere. "Barry, I need life-support and healing beasts, including a stamina giver and a beast with [Satisfy] or something similar."
Barry quickly ran to the other rnd of the hall. "Alfredo, sir! I need medical assistance, on the double! Life support and stamina beasts required, and a beast with a skill similar to [Satisfy] as well!!!"
Il Ji placed his fingers on the bridge of his nose. "I'm not THAT close to death, am I?"
He went back into the room and looked in the mirror. Gaunt face, somewhat blue lips, pasty skin. Okay, yeah, maybe he did.
He walked over and picked up a nutrient juice and began to drink it. Apparently it was a need.
