Il Ji woke up the next morning refreshed and awake. After getting Laila's breakfast prepared and making sure she was on track, he bid her a good day at school and went to work fashioning a new sign for his store.
His work complete, he printed it off and taped it to the 'closed' sign. It now read: "Welcome to the Lucky Beast Supply Shop. We are currently closed for the next month as the owner attempts his Creation Master Exam. Thank you for your patience. If you have any orders for when we reopen, you can slip a note in the box to your right."
As Laila went off to school, he relaxed and began to once again enter a series of staring contests.
This time, he managed to get [Judgement] and [Ego Control], the two prerequisites for [Sound Judgement], an Iron-Rank skill.
Since he needed [Sound Judgement] to ultimately combine into [Mental Master], he went ahead and combined the skills. It sapped some of his energy but not too much.
Since it was only 12PM, he went ahead and tried again. This time, he received [Spark Resistance]. From here, it was time to go.
He stopped at the nutrition shop and grabbed five more drinks to go before hailing a Gøøber.
As the transportation came to pick him up, Il Ji stepped nimbly down from the curb. The door opened automatically for him, and he stepped inside. The ride was nothing much to talk about. While it cost him 50 federal coins, it was surely worth the save in drivetime vs. walking.
Luckily, he managed to get to Sebastian's house in 30 minutes- much less than the three hours it had taken him via his longboard in high school.
He still had 15 minutes to kill, so he thanked the driver and let him go.
The driver gone, he found a nearby bench and began to review his plans. If he impressed Sebastian enough, Sebastian might even be willing to help him 'borrow' some creatures.
Of course, he couldn't tell Sebastian WHY he needed them. As a result, he'd probably never get away with it. But it didn't hurt to be prepared.
When only five minutes were left, he pulled up, listening to music that was waaay too mellow and rang the doorbell.
After a short minute, the gate opened and he was let in.
"Il Ji!" Sebastian shouted from the other side, looking fairly handsome in his five piece suit.
"Sebastian!" Il Ji replied, shaking his open hand and pulling him into a bro hug.
Standing next to his elbow was Sebastian's little white sister. "And my, how you've grown, Maya Law!"
Slapping both of her cheeks, he kissed them in true European fashion. The stunned little girl stood there, stunned.
"Is Lily ready for her training session?" He turned, asking Sebastian.
"Yes, she's waiting for us in the training lounge."
"Okay, then. Let's go."
The two walked through the Law Mansion to reach their destination. "How's your little sister?" Sebastian asked.
"She's taking the death of our parents and everything else all quite well, all things considered. She manages to get her homework done on time, and is often showing her best in both school and around the house. How's Maya?"
"Heh." Sebastian gave a small chuckle. "She's still causing me problems behind my back and showing her best on my front."
Il Ji smiled sadly. "Isn't that the privelige of being siblings, though? Now that I've had to take the role of her guardian… Well, things changed."
Sebastian thought to himself for a minute before changing the topic. "Hey, we're almost there. What skill did you choose for her?"
"I'd like to keep it a surprise, but I found three [Copper] skills that can combine into a higher level [Iron] skill. The skill is also perfectly suited for the Mystic Magic Turtle's [Throw Berserk Aura].
Sebastian held his hands up. "Hey. You're the expert." Then, he gestured fo an open door.
"It's right through here."
Il Ji walked through the door. Placing his stuff down, he began to explain the process to Lily and her tamer.
"So, we're going to apply the 'Copy Me' approach. Lily, if you do what I do, I'll teach you the skills."
"Alright! Sebastian, I would prefer privacy so as to keep my secret methods hidden."
The man thanked him profusely and left the room. It seemed that he really needed this.
"Alright!" Il Ji told the little turtle. "Lay down with your head forward and practice the skill, [Hardness]!"
