Kael and Lunaarie slowly walked away from the corrupted forest, leaving the dead trees behind them. With every step, the blackened branches became fewer, replaced by trees filled with green leaves and signs of life. The cold, suffocating feeling that had followed them since the Abyss appeared slowly disappeared, and the fresh air felt almost unfamiliar after everything they had experienced. Kael took a quiet breath, feeling his tense body relax slightly, but the uneasiness in his heart remained. Even though the forest behind them was returning to normal.
After walking for nearly half an hour, Lunaarie finally stopped. She looked around the unfamiliar surroundings as if trying to understand their location. The wind gently moved through the trees, but she remained still, lost in thought for a moment. After confirming their direction, she slowly turned her gaze toward Kael and spoke in a calm voice.
"We'll separate here."
She lifted one hand and pointed toward the east.
