You don't stink! But you're my stinky man!
That sentence from Alice Turner delighted Thomas Fisher to an extreme degree, and he excitedly pulled her into his arms.
Just as he was about to kiss her in his excitement, she raised a hand to stop him. "This is a public place. Don't start anything with me here, or you're not sleeping in the bedroom tonight when we get home."
The threat in Alice's words was very strong. Thomas instantly calmed down. Once he'd cooled off, he straightened up a little, but he still didn't let go of her.
"Then at least let me hold you, okay?"
Even if he couldn't kiss her, he could hug her, right? He really wanted to stick to her.
Alice didn't answer; instead she countered with a question. "And what if I say no?"
"...Fine, I'll hug you tonight instead."
From the laughter in Alice's eyes, Thomas saw a bit of a clue. To avoid being locked out of the bedroom, he obediently withdrew the arm that was around her waist.
