In a private motel room, a sizeable machine took over a small chunk of space as it sits in the living room. Kousuke stood comfortably on the couch, watching the hatch opened as a familiar figure exit the capsule with dumbfounded expression on her face. It was Amano Mei, her boss had randomly called her one day to meet, but she wasn't expecting the meeting to be in a motel room. Initially, she thought he was finally making a move on her, but instead she got a different kind of shocking moment of her life.
Without a word, she walks speedily toward him before picking him up by his collars and stares into his calm light-blue eyes. "How?"
"Hm? How what? How did I wake up handsome? How am I such an amazing guy with god-given charisma? Or are you asking about how do I have such a big co-"
"I meant this thing!" She said with her finger pointed at the white and highly detailed capsule that she just entered. The experiences inside that virtual world left her completely stunned. She could becomes anyone in that world, even the opposite gender and picks any humanoid races that somehow took her fancy. The huge amount of freedom makes her question the legitimate origin of the capsule, her boss had told her his team that didn't want public attention had made a breakthrough in technology recently. The capsule is the result of that, Kousuke even claimed the game was the fruit of his hard work.
Yes, everything she experienced in that world made of zero and one is just a game to her boss. When he had asked her about VR, she thought he meant that technology created by Oculus VR. It was an amazing tech in this modern age, no doubt about it, however it definitely have a lot of rooms for improvements. But now that she had just used the VR Capsule, it almost feels like the VR Headset was a piece of junk, making it seems like someone had released it while it was still in development for just some quick bucks.
"What kind of team do you have?! Is it some government agents working behind the scene?! Are you working for the secret organization to overtake this world?!" Mei shouted without any semblance of calmness in her tone nor expressions. Thankfully the room was sound proofed, as if Kousuke knew she would be going ballistic at the reveal. With the help of his Sacred Gear and Seele's, his understanding toward souls reached a new threshold. Thus, he finally completed the second parts of his Trinity Project.
The first part obviously being the game, that wasn't so difficult since he had tons of references across the web, and even adding his own experiences in Otherworld only makes the virtual world becoming more alive with various cultures spread across the digital world. He even specifically insert various easter eggs that would be game breaking if the player met certain requirements. As the Game Master and a cheat Returner bastard, he wanted to see how someone else would fare when equipped with abilities that surpassed their imagination.
"Easy there, Dumbledore. If I were working for some secret organization, I would've brought you to some hidden room and strapped you on a chair. My team, heh, is working exclusively for me, that's all you need to know." Kousuke replied with amused smile across his face. He didn't plan to tell Mei the whole truth since he'd rather have her remained ignorant to the supernatural world, not everyone wanted to live knowing they could die at anytime if some Fallen or Stray ran into them at night. Both had happened to him, and fortunately the Fallen knew she stood no chance against him by instinct and backs away with a hissed. It was strangely an adorable sight to behold.
"You... sigh, alright, fine. Then, how do you plan to release this? I might need some promotion materials to hype people up so that will likely take some time, maybe in a month?" Mei muttered after letting go of him and pondered with a serious look on her face. She can predicts the huge mess that would followed alongside skepticism, it was an advanced tech after all. At least to the average eyes. In reality, the capsule holds more semblance to magic engineered technology, magitech for short.
"So next year?" Kousuke said with a thoughtful expression. They were closing in to December in a few days, so he concluded she likely aim to release it somewhere around New Year Eve. It wasn't difficult for him to gives her the materials she needed, he could just asks the game's AI and it would be done after he finished a cup of coffee. Yes, he even made an AI. It wasn't hard duplicating data gathered from various souls and put them into the brand new digital avatar. With her delegating the virtual world as the Goddess of Creation & Death, he can sit back and enjoy the show once the time comes. She was quite a lively character with split personality, he can't wait to see players reaction to her introduction.
"Yes, that would be the best time, starting a new year with the greatest tech from every gamers wet dream. I just hope it won't attracted some unsavory attention," Mei voiced out her concern amidst the jest. She knew releasing this capsule and the game could brings the company into a new level never seen before, and that might caused some discords amongst the people at the top. She didn't want to suddenly woke up to the news of her young boss disappearing, only to reappear on the news as an unfortunate incident.
But as if he could read her distress thoughts, Kousuke clapped his hands pulling her out of the grey zone and back into reality. "If you're worried about my safety, don't be. I am well prepared the consequences that will comes after me once this fantasy tech appear in the market. I'm not so dumb that I wouldn't know what happens to someone when they stood a little too close to the sun, and my body have quite high resistance against the light you know~?" he ends it with a jest. But he wasn't kidding, if anyone dares to ruin this once upon a lifetime event for the rest of the world, he would appear in their bedroom with a sword hanging just above their head like an enactment of the ancient legend from Greek.
This was no longer about video games, Kousuke is giving humanity an opportunity like Biblical God did with His creation of Sacred Gear. If the world ending threat truly awakened one day, then they would be able to stand off against it with their own two feet. His capsule will be the Ark that will lead the world to the brighter future. After all, he can't be there to save everyone again like in Otherworld.
