Chapter 321 - Adventure of Astral Part 62: The Deep State

The kids all stayed close together, they moved through the shadows as during the dead of night they would put up posters of James and Angel with the quote. "Free Us!" They would spread like wildfire as the words and whispers of the two grew in the limelight. The dark underworld would know all about the two of them while the government still remained clueless in the capital on who would be putting these posters up.

As the two humans left each night they would be enchanted by Finnick with illusion, they were transparent to the world. They moved like spectators across the city. Nothing and no one could impede them on their quest. As the next two weeks passed nothing grew from the posters, slowly they would become more of an annoyance than helpful.

"Public opinion on the posters are slowly declining. James, Angel. There are four plantations that are currently very underprotected. Slip in during the night and free them, make sure to record every video possible of their conditions and their outfits, as well as their traits being removed. Chop chop! We only have so much time!"

"And what are you going to do while we are working on this?" Angel asked as Dante cackled.

He turned on the television as the news channel was playing. "That right there is the evening news. I am planning to hotwire a plug in for me to overwrite the program and take it over for myself!" He laughed as he looked at where the news tower was. "We probably get only one key broadcast. So we have to make it count. I don't care if you have to pretend to be kind and gentle when freeing the hybrids, just no violence. The people need to see the humane side of us."

James and Angel nodded as they opened up their maps, all four of these were within thirty minutes of each other on the ground. At their speed, it may as well be a third of that. The two looked out the front door and hopped into the waiting vehicle with Desmond as he drove them to the city outskirts.

"Are you sure your plan will work wonder boy?" Willow questioned him as she put on her silver chestplate.

"Why of course, because you are gonna be there with me. Why wouldn't I succeed when I need to most?" Dante had a warm smile on his face, the glow filled the room as Finnick sat on the couch.

"Don't care lovebirds. Bring home something tasty for me to eat." He bellowed from the other side of the room as he turned the channel to begin to play video games. Dante and Willow shared soft laughter with each other. They slowly exited outside of the front door as they began their walk to the radio tower.

Their walk was meditative, they didn't speak a word to each other as the views of the city filled their minds. No reason to rush themselves, no reason to go fast, they had nothing but time before the final goal was to be had. They were a few miles away as they saw the satellite dish extend above the buildings.

"Dante, are you sure this is the right thing? What if it backfires? What if we are caught and the twins never rebound?" Willow clung to his arm. Her hands viced down onto him as he didn't move a muscle.

"We won't fail, and even if we did, my dad has been carefully watching my every move, he knows every part that is in motion as much as me, despite his management of the hybrid nation and the supplies he escorts out. He can fill the void even if we only successfully install our backdoor." Dante held up a small box. The components looked unclear at first as small lights remained unlit on the unit.

Dante looked upwards. "Well, are you ready to climb?" He extended his arm as he motioned to the dish. The metal beams just wide enough for a person to climb and cling to. How safe could it be? That would be figured out on their way upwards.

"Do you think there are any guards?" Willow snickered as she let go and looked around the giant fencing. There was no one on the first level of the security. She hopped up and began to climb the fence as she used a bola to squeeze down the barbed wire. "And you didn't ask the one who could fly to do this?"

"Nope, all I know is that the view from up there will be untouchable." Dante had a light chuckle as he put the box back on his side before climbing the fence and leaping over in a near instant. The two walked over to the next barrier for them to hurdle. A solid brick wall that would be the last thing for them to deal with.

Dante chucked up a small drone and checked the inner wall for anyone just in case there were unexpected guests. Willow looked to the top of it as she waited for his reaction to the live wires in the brick itself. "Its more defended than we thought." She echoed to him as he caught the small drone.

"Just us! And the power box is on the other side of the wall, I can shut it down if you can help me get over it!" He smiled as he waited, loosening his body as he shimmied from side to side. She dropped to a knee and held her hands together. A soft nod and he exploded forward with three strong steps before jumping off his left foot. She pushed him from underneath as he cleared the wall.

He scrambled to the electrical box and disabled the wiring in the brick. Hopping to the top of the wall from it and stood over Willow. "Its over I have the high ground!" He smiled warmly as he crouched down and extended his arm. Willow jumped off the wall and caught his hand. He pulled her to the top of the wall as they hopped back inside. He went over and turned the breaker box back on. "No need for them to check on it if it came back on." He winked as she rolled his eyes.

"You ever been a spotter before." He gently asks as he pulls off his backpack. Fitting the harness onto himself.

"In this situation, no. You are in good hands still, aren't you?" She glared at him as he nodded his head up and down. Attaching the rope to his back he began to scale the tungsten tower in front of him. Slowly he pulled himself up the first rung as he slowly continued up the next half.

Each joint he tied himself an anchor, his climb was methodical, each step planned three before he took it. His body flowed like a web upwards. Stretching abound all across the frame. The higher he went, the faster he moved. "Just a few feet away." He kept making rapid glances upwards and began to smile as he closed the gap to where he needed to be, the transceiver box. He tied himself into place as Willow looked from below.

"Stay safe up there!" She giggled as she gave him a light playful tug. He swayed back and forth dramatically in retaliation and acting. Removing the steel cover and looking for any outlets for him to add his new toy. He found a spot as he connected his cord into the main box before giving a gentle tug on his rope. He put the cover back on and began the descent. Undoing every anchor on his way down as Willow kept him in place on his way down.

The two smiled as Dante made it to the ground safely as they looked at each other. "You didn't plan a way out did you?" She asked as he smiled.

"Of course not." He grinned as Willow rolled her eyes and jumped off the power box over the wall. Dante was amused as Willow provided the way forward. Now it was all on the twins to do their half. On their walk home Dante slowly received messages from the two as he became filled with joy.
