Dawn broke. The eternally dark Abyss-Sea lit up for the very first time. Though there was no single point of brightness, the sea was effortlessly flooded with a strange radiance.
Charles's many eyeballs shriveled and receded. His monstrous organs, along with his shadow, snaked across the ground, slowly retreating back into the giant, rope-like entity. His humanity returned, and as he was reshaped into his human form, Charles stared dazedly at the luminous sky. Above the Abyss-Sea, the pitch-black rock layers exposed their original earthy yellow hue for the first time.
"Wh—what on earth is happening?" he muttered to himself.
As he spoke, a constant thudding sounded behind him. It was the sound of the wax-eyed Light God believers collapsing, the warm sunlight being pure poison to them.
