Looking at the Floating Monsters in the air, Charles knew their bodies were tough and incredibly strong, so he didn't confront them head-on. He flapped his leathery wings and darted toward the nearby hillside.

Charles thought everything was going according to his plan, but he had only made it halfway when a flash of light appeared before him. A Floating Monster materialized in his path, a man covered in skull tattoos standing on its shoulder. The man wore a smug grin as he adjusted the brass monocle on his face, as if to show the Floating Monster's teleportation was his doing.
At that moment, it was too late for Charles to dodge. A heavy stone pillar swung over, smashing into his body.
Charles coughed up a mouthful of blood, and his situation instantly became critical.
