BOOM! A deafening explosion rang out. When the smoke finally cleared, Charles was shocked to find that the entire door hadn't budged an inch. The chains were far sturdier than he'd imagined.
"It doesn't matter if we can blow it open or not, we have no time to waste. Plant all the explosives we brought—every last one. Light the fuse and let's go," Charles said, his tone tinged with urgency.
On the icy cold floor, an extra-long fuse was ignited. Without waiting for the explosion, Charles led everyone in a mad dash for the outside.
The group moved quickly through the lab. Thanks to the chaos caused by the Monsters, their retreat was considerably faster. But the closer they got to the exit, the more Mih surged in from the doorway. Even though they were just playing the part of ordinary civilian Mih, they were no less difficult to handle.
Charles and the others were now like a tiny wooden boat on a stormy sea, in danger of capsizing at any moment.
