A drop of black water, containing a wriggling leech, fell onto the Narwhal's Second Chief Engineer. He staggered and collapsed, desperately reaching out his right hand toward Charles, but it was pointless. His body rapidly liquefied into a black fluid.
This horrifying scene made everyone's scalp tingle. Driven by pure instinct, the crowd bolted into the neighboring supermarket. Meanwhile, the rain overhead finally began to pour.
Watching everything outside turn black as leeches crawled all over the streets, Charles realized they couldn't afford to wait. Their reproductive speed was beyond his imagination; they had to get out of this hellhole fast.
After a quick scan of the supermarket, Charles went to the clothing section and ran his hand over the garments. They looked like normal clothes but felt oddly like plastic.
"Put all of these on! Grab some extra hats too! Move it!"
