Snot - nosed. 12
I was chatting with Clara when I saw Adela approach me with her group of friend Danielle , bithynia , Chloe and Cindy ,those annoying girls.
They walked up to me as Adela ran her hands through her short hair which I heard from some students that she did a very bad thing so her parents asked her to cut her hair .
must have been painful I thought even though I wasn't even feeling pitiful .
I couldn't imagine cutting my hair I really haven't done something that bad to warrant such drastic measure .
The only thing am sure that was bad ,was me skipping school apart from that I haven't really done anything bad .
But her parents shouldn't have gone that far how bad was her crimes though ,I must comment that she looks fabulous in her style quite manageable .
Her hair was at lest growing now which stopped at her shoulder but it seem she didn't want to make it long because I could clearly see that she trimmed the hair ,so probably she liked it maybe it was just a rumor _ but mine is perfectly long and curly stopping at my back .
She stopped in front of me rolling her eyes before she said.
"New splash girl I entered into the swimming competition to kick your ass down " .
I shared a look with Clara as she shook her head like she didn't understand .
"Come on girl do you have to be in any competition I am in " I asked as she laughed covering her mouth . I raised a brow what wrong with her .
"Sure maria I have too because we are now rivals you beat me in the violin great ,but not this no uh uh uh.. I don't know about what goes in that head of yours but I know for sure that am the best in swimming I got skills , talents and... " Adela was about to say when Clara stopped her with the raise of her hand . she actually pouted crossing her hands on her chest .
Sometimes the girl behaved like toddler in a girls body .
"And who ask you that ,miss snot nosed , you just came here spewing nonsense literally ,did maria tell you she is in for the competition to beat you... you are just hurting you brain cells everyday thinking she is your rival when she literally doesn't care .... About you " Clara said finally huffing while Adela glared at her .
That was the truth though.
"Yeah Adela I don't give a fuck about how you feel ,my advise for you is stop hurting your brains everyday thinking of ways to win me because you are just being stupid beside , I don't even care about the swimming competition especially about you " I said pointing at her face , not waiting whatever comeback she had , I tugged Claraaway from the group .
I walked away from Adela who looked stunned and her friends . I turned back to see her pathetically stomp her feet on the ground like a childish baby before she left with her friends .
"What's with her " I asked after a few minutes. Clara shook her head in she didn't know shrugging .
"I don't know but she sometimes act like that spoilt brat _ what's her name again Auber,urban or what " Clara asked thoughtful tryi g to remember a girl name . I laughed out realizing who she was taking about .
"Its Aubrey and yeah sure she does act like that girl it was so funny when you called her a snot-nosed come on that doesn't even make sense " I said still laughing as Clara chuckled before saying .
"I know I couldn't think of an insult quick, so I just went with the flow apparently she brags a lot so that a good nickname for her she thinks you are her rival when you don't even care about the sport how foolish " .
"It funny how she thinks I care about her existence like seriously, the only time I cared a little is because of I love playing violin that like the only thing am sure I could do even with my eyes closed and best part you guys didn't even force me but as for this swimming I gotta be serious with you if you asked me about the rating on me winning this competition I'll give myself fifteen but am still contemplating on ten because I don't know what I am going to do there " I said honestly shrugging. Clara burst out laughing.
I thought she was going to stop at first when she cleared her throat but then she continued clutching her stomach I didn't even know what was funny I was serious though i don't know what to do .
I did not prepare , neither did I train or do any thing .
I just entered into some competition.
The chances of me winning was like one !!!
"Out of a what " Clara asked still laughing.
" a hundred " I rolled my eyes saying dryly ,watching Clara laugh out again loud enough to draw attention ,not caring who was looking at her probably thinking she is a maniac right now .
Clara came to stand at my front as she smiled she cleaned the droplet of tears at the corner of her eyes laughing again ,making me frown as I rolled my eyes .
"Girl am trying ...hard not to ...not to " she said bursting into another fit of laughter .
I sighed tiredly deciding to ignore her .
"You got me when you said you rated yourself at fifteen and ten really girl you got to believe in yourself there is no difference in the swimming we do when we go to the beach and the one at school the only different is that let me say there is a little bit gap a small space where someone occupies and then another unlike you know the normal free water in the beach " Clara explained with a small smile .
"But am scared I really like a free water " I said knowing fully well that that wasn't the reason for my whole panicking and all that .
Clara actually rolled her eyes smacking my shoulder playfully , while I chuckled.
"Girl don't lie we talked about this you are scared because you are not use to doing it in front of people yes you swim at the beach but then most people don't pay attention to you because hey guys the beach is place for swimming so it sought of common and expected you will hardly see a person stand up or gather around to watch you swim ...all I am trying to say is that you should just ignore the stress, think and focus about the water and also the guy you are trying to win " Clara ended with a wink grinning from ear to ear while sighed again .
I didn't know what to say massaging my temple, she wasn't even listening to me, its like she comes up with a special comeback for my questions.
"sure thing ...I will try but we didn't talk about it being this stressful " .
Clara chuckled before saying "maria what were you expecting you are trying to win the heart of a famous guy in school, yeah if you think they wouldn't be stress girl am going to ask you rethink that again " .
I glared at Clara I never said I liked ken or was trying to win his heart ...
What do I look like some weird fan girl !!!
ugh I should just accept the fact that they wouldn't let this go .
' swimmers should get ready for the swimming competition ' the announcer announced loudly with the microphone .
My heart skipped two beat hearing Dorothy voice , the head girl for all sporting activities .
I turned to look at her , with the head boy Marcus a frown settled on my forehead.
I was panicking.
I looked at Clara who gave me reassuring smile trying to hold a laugh
"This isn't funny nerd " I said slapping her shoulder before I stormed out of the room to the locker room .
