Ren was hatching a plan inside his mind, running numbers and possibilities as quickly as his thoughts would allow.
From where he and his group stood, there were still roughly fifty meters of thick, yellow liquid between them and the distant shore that housed the door to the next room. At normal pace, maybe they could cross it in ten minutes, but in this place, nothing was normal.

Teleportation didn't work here. Neither did any escape-type movement skills. All abilities that could cheat terrain or bypass danger were simply disabled. They had no choice but to enter the viscous water and walk their way through it step by careful step.
Roxy hugged herself and bit her nails. "What's the plan, Ren? Don't tell me we're going to swim through that nightmare."
Ren inhaled deeply before turning around to face them. "First question—how good are you at math?"
