Chapter 35 - Legends

Magus leans on a wall in the back of an alley. He sighs impatiently and steps off from the wall, peeking behind a dumpster.

"Finally," he exclaims. Tash Jr is walking up to him, "That was more than ten minutes, Tash," Magus mentioned rudely.

"Sorry, but you're the one who came to me at work. But... here" Tash Jr says, handing Magus an old large book. "Your grimoire," he says.

Magus smirks and snatches the book out of Tash's hands. "Good... Good!" He exclaimed excitedly.

"Now then," he begins with his mischievous smirk, "Off to see Tash Senior," he chuckles.

Back in Clairwood

"Daughters of Mount Kerishmu?" Jaden questioned, leaning on the couch behind Harmony, Margot and John.

"Whatever the hell that is, it sounds made up," Aarion blustered.

"They're not made up, I assure you," Margot attested, "But, there isn't much we know about them. And the things we do... we aren't sure if it's true," Margot cautioned.

"But the legends are known by many witches and they're older than the first coven," John croaked.

"Many witches as in old witches, Johnny," Margot quickly chimed in with a smile.

"Wait, ..what legend?" Aiyana asks, refocusing Margot and John back to their elaboration.

"The legend of the Cloaked One," John responds

"The Cloaked One?" Aarion asks, scrunching his face in suspicion.

"Yes," Margot says, "there is a 5,000 year old myth that a three eyed entity in a cloak, blessed the prayers of nine women in Ancient Rome in a cave inside the base of a mountain. Those women were the Daughters of Mount Kerishmu,"

"An entity..." Harmony begin fearfully, "like some sort of demon or angel?" she queried.

"I... don't know," Margot said, blinking

"I do know that this Cloaked One, he was the one who gave the women magic, and all of them went and created the nine original witch bloodlines," she explained, and the others share a shocked or confused expression.

"Wait," Aarion began with a clever smile rising on the side of his cheek, "the primordial eye is the Cloaked One's eye, right?" He asks and Margot nods 'yes' hesitantly.

"So, the legend should point us to wherever it's located, correct?" He asks again, sternly.

Margot sighs and nods 'no'. "The legend never spoke about the primordial eye. Only of the Cloaked One and the Daughters of Mount Kerishmu,"

"Ugh," Harmony rolls her eyes. "Great, so this whole interrogation was pointless. I'm going to bed," she announces before stepping away from the couch and walking towards the staircase. "Jaden?"

Jaden looks at the others then back at Harmony, "Have fun," Jaden waves his hand over to Aarion and Aiyana, following Harmony to their bedroom.

Aiyana exhales and stands up. "I'm going to bed too. Today was a long day," she says tiresomely before walking towards the staircase.

"Wait!" John yells. "We're still tied up," John says, suggesting that they should be freed.

Aiyana stops on a stair and looks at them. "So? Guess you'll be sleeping uncomfortably tonight," she exasperates before continuing to walk upstairs.

Aarion giggles.

"You're not gonna help us?" Margot questioned and Aarion stops laughing. His expression becomes serious and he leans in. "You're... You're a Williams Witch. I can feel it," he whispers.

"But, you want my help, when my coven and I needed help years ago against Paul Haggard and his coven. I needed your help when Magus was in my mind, I needed your help... when I died twice! Where were you? Where were the other Williams witches when I needed help?" He questioned, forcefully demanding for an answer.

Margot's focus lingered down, and she kept her mouth shut.

"Mmm, that's what I thought," Aarion aggressively muttered before taking a stand. He begins to walk to the staircase but stops. He turns around, looking at Xavin sleep on the couch.

He walks over to Xavin and gently picks his arm up, wrapping it around his shoulder. He picks Xavin up by his legs, and carry Xavin up to his old bedroom.

In New York

A basement door bursts open, and Magus steps through, walking with pride.

"Hellllloo" he shouts in a singing tone. "Anyone home?"

"Magus," someone says from a distance

Magus turns and see an old man behind a counter lined with glass potions and herbs.

"You look good," Tash croaked.

Magus gives his mischievous smile as he walks closer to Tash.

"Tash Sr," he chuckles, as he sits in a chair in front of the table, across from Tash. He places his grimoire, and the counter and Tash's eyes widen in excitement and shock.

"I was hoping you would forget about what I did to you, Tash... for a deal" Magus implores

Tash's expression settles down and looks at Magus with slight content.

"Last time we made a deal, you cursed me," Tash spoke with fury.

Magus laughs, waving his hand and nodding his head no.

"That was just insurance," he divulged. "How about this... I give you my grimoire full of elder spells, and I revoke your curse,"

Tash scoffs, "Neither of those items interest me. I would like the grimoire of the Black Wizard, Aerys. But I doubt you know where his tomb is. So," Tash begin to stand

"Let's change the deal to me doing whatever you want... and in return I never have to see you again,"

"Hmm," Magus smiles. "Here I was thinking you grown tired of living. But..." Magus sits up straight and holds his hand out readying to give a shake.

"We have a deal"
