Chapter 34 - The First Witch

"You probably won't remember it, but that's okay. I'll tell you whatever you need to know later in the future!" Aarion said. "Wow! I didn't know our family history was like that." Eden responded. "Yes! And my birth father was a part of a family that specialized in time magic. That may be the only reason why I can use it." Aarion said.

Harmony comes into the room. "Guys, come on. We're going to take pictures." Harmony said. They both followed her out.

Outside, distant thunder grew louder. Everyone in the beloved Magus clan joins together to take a family picture. Everyone was there except Alexander.

Back at the compound in New York, Magus rampantly searches the books in the library.

He then stops after he hears a door creaking from downstairs. He squints his eyes and grumbles as he walks out of the room and to the staircase, placing his hand on the banister.

"Aarion!" he yells out. He then looks at his hand. "Only seven years unattended, and this place is dusty as a Sicilian temple," he scoffs. Up the stairs he begins to walk to the bedrooms, intending to continue search for a book, but when he turns, he's not alone. A woman stood feet away from him with a sword.

"I've come to retrieve you, Xenos," she said. Magus's eyebrows frown with a concerned shock. "Y-You're looking for The Portal?" Magus sputtered and smiled.

"He's out of town right now. You should drag yourself out, too, silly poltroon. I'm sure he'll be waiting for you," Magus chuckles . The woman smacks her lips. "Stop lying, Xenos," she retorts. Magus shares a rich laugh. "I assure you, I'm not The Portal, deary," he says, smiling.

The woman steps closer. "Xenos Wiremu, you will come with me. And I'm not asking," she fiercely nagged. Magus's expression then became stern.

"Wiremu? Just who sent you? TheGuardian? There's no way theKey would send someone for The Portal. Wait, don't tell me Joseph is still mad about the council's decision. He already cursed Xenos, kept him from our home for two thousand years! Why is he still out to get him?!' Magus yells, enraged.

The woman snickered. "You know that was the first time you called the Door by his name. I wonder what scares you that much," she says with a sinister smile, playing with her sword. "What scares me should scare you. If the Daughtersof Magik were to find out that the Portal died permanently, they'd come for his killers personally," Magus carefully surmised.

The woman scoffs, "And how would they get here without Xenos?" Magus looks at the floor, then back at her. She called his bluff. She smirked, "This is what you get for protecting someone, Ventus!" She holds her hand out, and Magus gets magically pushed off the staircase and down to the first floor.

Magus coughs and groans while on the floor, and then suddenly, a loud clang is heard. Magus stands and sees himself in cuffs. He grumbles even louder.

"What is this?!" He yells. The witch floats gently down off the balcony to the first level.

"That's a magic seal shackle. A dark object created by Aerys, the infamous Black Wizard," She responds. Magus chuckles. "Dark Object?"

The shackle falls off his wrist. Magus then holds his hands out, and the witch begins to float. "You fool! I'm the progenitor of dark magic!" He yells.

"How about I share a little bit of my darkness with you?' He chuckles with a devious smile. "Cutis, sanguis et os, pic donec cor solum restat!" He bellows.

The woman's limbs begin twisting, and she screams. Her twisted legs begin to emit smoke, and black tar leaks out of her clothing. The leaks of the tar rise and rise, until black tar begins dripping from her collar.

Her screams fade

Her floating clothes fall into a pit of bubbling tar, her remains.

Magus turns around, smiling deviously.

"Now, it's time I get to work,"

Back at the house in the woods of Clairwood, Harmony, Jaden, and Aiyana are standi ng- in front of the house, waving goodbye to all of their guests. Once the final car leaves, they all enter the house.

"Hey, who is that lying on the couch?" Jaden asks as he enters the kitchen and finds Aarion washing the dishes. "Ah, some... guy I asked to come with me," he responds. "He's my mailman," Aarion mentions.

Jaden opens the fridge looking for a drink. "Well, be careful around him. He reeks of a powerful witch, a powerful witch that's not you,"

CRASH

"Aarion?" Jaden asks as he stands up from looking into the fridge. A broken plate is shatterd on the floor mate by the sink, and the sinks water runs.

"Aarion?" He asks again walking out of the kitchen.

"Aarion!" Jaden yells.

Aarion holds his hands out towards John who stands on the stairs. John is choking and his nose bleeds out dark blood. "They're imposters!" Aarion yells out to Jaden.

Jaden looks back and forth at Aarion and John, panicking.

"NO! Stop this!" An older voice yelled out. Margot came downstairs and walked up to John, holding him.

"Stop! I'll tell you. We'll tell you everything!" She pleads out. Aarion tilts his head in disbelief but drops John.

"What the hell is going on?" Harmony asks as she and Aiyana walk in from the living room. "Your buddies intervened in my meeting with Josephine," Aarion says sassily. "What?!" Aiyana said in disbelief.

InManhattan, Magus walks down the street in Aarion's clothes. He looks around, in slight awe and disgust of the new world. Things have changed much since he was alive two thousand years ago.

He walks in front of a bar and decides to go inside. When he enters he looks around, scanning the bar for someone he knows. He then looks at the bartender behind the counter. He smiles and walks over there and takes a seat.

"What can I get you? Lotta folks get a classic bourbon," the bartender says, wiping off a cup of glass. "How about the magic cocktail," Magus suggests with a smirk.

The bartender chuckles. "Only the worst typa folks come here to order that," he responds. "Oh," Magus leans in closer, "folks like your father, Tash?" Magus chuckles.

The Bartender furrows his eyebrows and steps back. "Tash Stonegher Jr... you were easy to find," Magus chuckles. "I'd expect more from a Cadstone relative, but after all that's the reason I choose you Stoneghers. Less important than the Cadstones, but still powerful like them," Magus says smiling.

Tash gulps. "Father told me one day the devil would come for it..."

Magus chuckles mischievously at the word devil. "So, you have it or not, Stonegher?" He asks firmly. Tash Jr nods. "Yes, meet me out back in five,"

Back at the house in Clairwood.

Margot and John are tied up on the couch, about to be interrogated by Aarion, Harmony, Aiyana and Jaden

"Tell me why did you mess with my spell to contact Josephine. Are you working for Magus?" Aarion questions. John and Margot sit there staring at them with fear. Harmony steps up behind them, resting her arms on the couch. "Tell him when he asks... or tell him when he forces it out of you," Harmony says.

John scoffs. "We were only doing what we were told to do," John exclaims.

"Told by who?" Aiyana asks. "Mr. John, why would someone make you betray us?" Aiyana asks with concern.

"Ms. Bello said to help!"

Jaden leans in, sitting on the couch across from Margot and John. "Ms. Bello? She said help, who?" Jaden asks. Margot and John looks over and up to someone standing by the couch across. They're looking at Aarion. Aarion has his arms crossed and he shakes his head 'no' in an annoyed manner.

"Fuck this, I'm doing the spell again,"

He sits down in front of the couch, cris crossed and closes his eyes.

"De magia, quae per sanguinem meum fluit, et per sanguinem meum, qui per me magia vivom praesentiam patriarchae det."

"De magia, quae per sanguinem meum fluit, et per sanguinem meum, qui per me magia vivom praesentiam patriarchae det."

"De magia, quae per sanguinem meum fluit, et per sanguinem meum, qui per me magia vivom praesentiam patriarchae det!"

All of the lights in the house then shuts off and whispers swirl around Aarion.

"You..." a woman muttered.

"You never had to summon me," a woman says calmy

Aarion jumps up and turns around. He sees an Italian woman in an old, tattered cloak with a long hair with white streaks.

"Where-"

"Where are my friends?" Aarion demands an answer in panic.

"Settle down... They can't see me. Only you can," she says, calmy once again.

Snap

Snap

Snap!

"Hello!" Jaden waved his hand in front of Aarion as Aarion still sits crisscrossed on the floor with his eyes closedv . "Maybe it worked," he shrugged and walked off, continuing to interrogate Margot and John.

"What is your name, now?" Josephine asks with a calm tone.

"Uhm... I'm Aarion. Your descendant. I called you for-

"I know why you called," Josephine stuck her hand out, in a gesture telling him to stop.

"But, I didn't think you would. You never needed my help," she says.

Aarion scrunches his face in confusion and scoffs, "Uh, okay... So, you can help me?" He asks with uncertainty.

"Child," Josephine begins sternly, "only you have the power to kill thy son. It has always been written in the stars," she whispers,

Aarion scoffs again, "Can you stop talking like you know me? Or with riddles? Whatever the hell this is.." he says annoyed

"I just wanna know about the Eye of Magik," he says and Josephine gasps.

"The primordial Eye of Magi!" She exclaims. (Mai-jhee)

She then turns around, wearily. "There are two witches here in league with Ms. Bello. I take it they informed you of this?" She asks seriously.

Aarion steps up, "Yeah... why do you say it like it's a bad thing? Is the Eye not the answer to killing Magus?

"The Eye of Magi," Josephine turns around, voice getting louder, "is a precious, sacred piece of the Cloaked One. If Bello possessed the power of the Eye... who knows what she'll do with it."

"You have to be patient, Aarion," her voice becomes calmer, "When the time is right, you will know what to do to kill thy son," she says, beginning to fade away.

Aarion scoffs, "Maybe I should've asked another dead ancestor for advice," he huffed.

Josephine laughs as she vanishes.

Aarion opens his eyes and quickly stood, the room is lit again and everyone is there.

"Aarion!" Harmony exclaims, sitting by tied up John.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Aarion deadpanned as he walked into the kitchen, looking through the fridge.

He pulls out a water and slams the door.

"She gave me nothing," he says scornfully walking back into the living room. "All she said was be patient... like I haven't been doing that for fucking years!" He yells out.

"Hey," Jaden says, face scrunched, "You're going to wake the entire house," He forcefully informs. Aarion sighs and sits on the couch beside Xavin as he sleeps.

"Well... there's one thing I know," Aarion begins, and Aiyana sits down next to him.

"I'm sure Josephine knows where the Eye of Magi is,"

"What?!" Aiyana exclaims, shocked. "It's actually real?

"Sure is..." Aarion smirks mischievously, "but, you knew that. Right, Margot and John?" He asks knowingly, and they look at him with slight fear. He chuckles.

"To teach you two a lesson for that stunt you pulled earlier, you will tell me everything you know about Josephine Williams," he demands with a smile.

"Williams?" John blurts out.

"Right, your clan adopted the English version, but the first witch's name was Josephine Wiremu, not Williams," John explains quickly, and the coven's expressions become shocked. John continued, "And the first witch... is a Daughter of Mount Kerishmu. A Daughter of Magik,"
