27. Successful Treatment
Ethan inserted a needle through the pores of Jenny's abdomen. He then inserted another needle just below her chest. Elemental affinities converged at the heart, and since Light was not compatible with Darkness, the light energy particles were being blocked from entering her inner body.
The purpose of the first needle was to block the light energy particles from trying to reach her heart. As for the second needle, it prevented her darkness energy from clashing with the invading light particles.
"Prepare yourself. The pain will start at any moment now," Ethan warned.
"Hmm," Jenny replied. Having been warned, she strengthened her mental fortitude, gathering her courage and preparing for whatever pain might come.
Ethan then placed a third needle precisely between her chest and abdomen—directly between the first and second needles. After that, he began rubbing her belly, as if gathering everything within her abdomen toward the third needle.
He felt embarrassed.
He had never done something like this to a girl before—not even to Shirley, even though they had shared a deep bond. He had never harboured such thoughts toward her, nor had he ever touched her in such a way.
And now he was doing this to Jenny.
Even though he was merely treating her, and even though this was a medical procedure, she was still a young girl in her prime. Since this was his first patient and his first time touching a woman's abdomen, the embarrassment was unavoidable.
Focus!
He immediately admonished himself. This was treatment—nothing more. He harboured no improper thoughts.
If someone reached the 1st Level of the Elementary Stage, they could form Inner Energy. This energy could be used for many purposes—combat, pill refinement, weapon creation, and more.
If Ethan possessed Inner Energy, he could have used it to treat Jenny directly. But he hadn't even begun cultivation yet. He had no Inner Energy at all.
The chaotic energy inside Jenny's body began to gather around her abdomen. If the treatment were delayed any further, it would have spread throughout her body, completely spiralling out of control. Since Ethan lacked Inner Energy, he was forced to use his bare hands to guide and gather the chaotic energy toward the third needle.
Sure enough, as he focused on guiding it, the chaotic energy was forcibly expelled through the opposite end of the third needle. As it slowly leaked out, Jenny clenched her teeth tightly.
The pain she had mentally prepared herself for had begun.
She didn't scream—but that didn't mean she wasn't suffering. Ethan could tell she was in tremendous pain. The only reason she remained silent was because she was enduring it through sheer willpower.
Even though Jenny could feel Ethan rubbing her belly, she knew he was not taking advantage of her situation. Her belief was reinforced as the pain in her liver area began to fade. With every trace of chaotic energy expelled, a sense of comfort spread through her body.
Time passed quickly.
Three hours slipped by in the blink of an eye. Throughout that time, Ethan did nothing but continuously guide the chaotic energy toward the third needle. Despite the agony, Jenny endured it all—without making a single sound.
When the process finally ended, Jenny felt completely at ease. The pain had vanished entirely. Ethan could clearly sense that all the chaotic energy had been removed.
Next, he placed the fourth needle near the first one. His precision was remarkable—he inserted it directly beside the pore through which the first needle had entered.
The moment the fourth needle was placed, light energy particles began to flow out from its opposite end. Unlike before, this process caused no pain. Instead, Jenny felt an overwhelming sense of comfort as the light particles were expelled.
Ethan carefully removed all the needles and placed them back into the wooden box.
The treatment was complete.
And it was a success.
The system notified him immediately.
[Congratulations to the user for treating your first patient]

What a stingy system!
What kind of reward was this? Did it think he was some kind of beggar?
Ethan was dissatisfied. His lips twitched in anger.
But he knew this wasn't the time to react. Any unusual behaviour might raise Jenny's suspicions. He quickly masked his emotions and maintained an indifferent expression.
Jenny slowly opened her eyes. A radiant smile spread across her face as she looked at Ethan with awe.
"You're amazing, Big Brother! Not even my master could identify the source of my problem. Yet you not only found the cause—you cured it!"
"It was all thanks to the manuals in the library," Ethan replied calmly. "I merely followed their instructions."
"No, Big Brother!" Jenny said earnestly. "Even following instructions like that requires years of practice to achieve such precision. One small mistake could have caused serious harm. What you did was incredible."
Her words were sincere.
Learning any skill required years of experience. More importantly, mastering it demanded countless materials, equipment, and failures. Only through repeated mistakes could one achieve true precision.
Yet Ethan succeeded on his very first attempt.
Jenny could tell—his control was flawless. It was as though he had decades of experience in medicine.
What she didn't know was that Ethan possessed a system.
With enough Skill Points, the system could instantly transmit all the necessary knowledge of any subject directly into his mind—engraving every detail as though he had spent years studying and practising it.
Jenny said excitedly, "Big Brother, don't lie to me. You're not just a doctor, are you? You have a deep understanding of elemental affinities. You knew swords belong to the Light element, and sabres to Darkness. That kind of knowledge requires profound cultivation theory. Only teachers know such things!"
She hesitated, then asked softly, "Could it be… that you're not just a doctor—but also a teacher?"
