Kenneth's POV
After hearing that Mildred had returned to the company, Kenneth bought a bottle of wine as a welcome gift.
He waited until after the lunch break before going to her old office.
As he walked down the hallway, he stopped at the secretary's desk.
"Hi. Is your boss inside?" he asked.
"Hello, Sir. Yes, she is," the secretary replied politely.
She stood up and opened the office door for him.
Kenneth walked inside with a smile.
"Welcome back!" he greeted, handing Mildred the bottle of wine.
Mildred looked at it in surprise.
"Wow! You're so sweet."
"Since when?" Kenneth teased.
"Since you've been welcoming me like this," she replied with a smirk.
Kenneth chuckled.
"Anyway, thank you," Mildred said sincerely before giving him a warm hug.
"How have you been?" he asked.
"I'm doing well. How about you?"
Kenneth shrugged with a grin.
"Still breathing."
Mildred laughed.
She walked over to the couch and sat down. Kenneth joined her.
