Tom POV:
A few weeks later, Tom already established a rapport with his members, some of them are close to him, he hung out with them oftentimes. He didn't distance himself from his staff, he treat them as family and friends, but when it comes to working, he is the boss and he is a very strict leader
At the canteen, he was eating with his member, A tall guy came, slimmed body.
"Well well, Thomas Yang!" He said and sat on an empty steel chair on another side of the table
Tom looked up at him
"Kent!" He greeted him " what's up?" He asked in a friendly way
"I'm good" he answered " I heard about you, and I'm so excited to meet you somehow " he sarcastically replied
Tom and Kent are immortal enemies since grade school, Kent always bullied him since young.
Tom smiled sarcastically
" Can I join?" He asked "oops!" He stop himself " I remember we're not on the same level, you seemed much higher than me" he sarcastically said and left
Tom shook his head and continued eating his lunch.
" Go on finish your meals, and don't mind him," he said
After finishing his lunch, Tom went to the elevator. He pressed the button going up and waited for the doors to open.
While standing in front of the elevator, he caught sight of a reflection on the black tempered glass.
For a brief moment, he thought it was Anna.
His eyes lingered.
Something in him shifted—subtle, almost unnoticeable.
He turned around immediately.
But there was no Anna.
Only a woman walking toward him from behind.
Tom blinked once, as if snapping out of it.
The woman stopped near him.
"Good afternoon, sir," she greeted politely.
Tom gave a small nod and a faint smile. "Hello," he replied.
The elevator doors opened.
They stepped inside together.
The silence in the elevator felt heavier than usual.
Tom stared at the closing doors, his reflection faintly visible on the polished metal.
"Impossible for her to come in here," he murmured under his breath, shaking his head slightly as a small, unreadable smile formed on his lips.
A moment later, the elevator arrived.
He stepped out, straightened his suit, and walked toward his office.
Without looking back, he went straight to his desk and continued working

ANNA POV
Anna immediately hid when she saw Tom standing in front of the elevator.
Her heart nearly jumped out of her chest.
Instinctively, she stepped behind a nearby pillar, pressing herself against the wall as if that could somehow make her invisible.
From where she stood, she could see his reflection on the elevator doors.
Tom looked as handsome as ever in his suit.
And for some reason, that only made her more nervous.
When the elevator doors finally closed and carried him away, Anna slowly exhaled the breath she had been holding.
"Thank goodness..." she whispered.
A day earlier, Chairman Yang had called her personally.
He wanted to discuss something important with her, which was why she came to the company today.
But the truth was...
She didn't want to run into Tom.
Not after what happened the last time they met.
The memory of her raising her voice at him still made her cringe.
She felt ashamed.
Embarrassed.
And worst of all...
Guilty.
That was exactly why she wanted to distance herself from him.
The farther she stayed, the safer her heart would be.
Or at least, that was what she kept telling herself.
After making sure Tom was gone, Anna walked toward the elevator and pressed the button.
A few moments later, the doors opened.
She stepped inside and headed to the floor where Chairman Yang's office was located.
When she arrived, she approached the receptionist.
"Good afternoon. I have an appointment with the CEO."
The receptionist smiled politely and picked up the phone.
A few moments later, Chairman Yang's secretary informed him that Anna had arrived.
Only seconds passed before permission was granted.
"You may come in now."
Anna nodded and entered the office.
The room was spacious and elegant.
Chairman Yang immediately smiled when he saw her.
"Wow! Come in, come in. Sit down."
Anna smiled politely and sat on the couch.
"So," Chairman Yang said excitedly, leaning forward slightly. "Do you accept my offer?"
Anna nodded and smiled.
"Yes, Lolo."
The old man's face immediately brightened.
"That's good to hear!"
His voice was full of satisfaction.
"And don't worry about the license. You're only here for a summer job. In fact, this will help you earn money and gain experience."
"Yes," Anna replied humbly.
"You'll be helping the company nurse. Simple tasks only—taking blood pressure, assisting with first aid, things like that."
He seemed more excited than she was.
"By the way, what would you like to drink?"
Anna quickly shook her head.
"I'm fine, Lolo. I already had lunch before I came here."
"Alright."
Chairman Yang smiled warmly.
"You know, I'm really excited to work with you, Anna."
His words caught her off guard.
She smiled.
"Me too."
Chairman Yang immediately called his secretary.
A knock sounded on the door.
His secretary entered.
"Please accompany her to the HR Department and arrange her identification card," Chairman Yang instructed. "Then let Ms. Danica accompany her to the clinic."
"Right away, sir."
"Oh, and please inform them that she'll be starting next week."
He looked at Anna.
"Right?"
Anna nodded.
"Yes."
Soon, Anna and Ms. Kaye headed to the HR Department.
There, she was introduced to Ms. Danica, the HR Manager.
After the introductions, Ms. Kaye returned to her post while Ms. Danica accompanied Anna.
They first visited the IT Department.
"This is our new nurse," Ms. Danica introduced.
The staff welcomed her warmly.
Anna had her picture taken and signed the digital registration form for her company ID.
Afterward, Ms. Danica brought her to the company clinic and introduced her to the staff she would be working with the following week.
Everyone was welcoming.
For the first time that day, Anna felt a little less nervous.
Later, Ms. Danica gave her a short tour of the building.
As they waited for the elevator, Ms. Danica smiled at her.
"So, you're graduating next year?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Wow. Congratulations in advance."
Anna laughed softly.
"Thank you. But I'm only halfway there. I still have a lot to do after graduation."
She paused.
"Especially the Nursing Licensure Examination."
A nervous smile appeared on her face.
"And honestly... I'm not even sure if I'll pass."
Ms. Danica immediately shook her head.
"You can do it."
Her voice was reassuring.
"Soon you'll have that license. You're already so close."
Anna smiled.
"In God's will."
The elevator arrived.
They stepped inside.
Ms. Danica informed the elderly elevator operator where they were headed.
The old man greeted them kindly.
Anna smiled and greeted him back.
When they arrived, Ms. Danica brought her to her office.
Anna sat across from her while Ms. Danica explained everything in detail—the salary package, company policies, employee rights, benefits, dress code, and workplace expectations.
For the first time, it felt real.
This wasn't just a possibility anymore.
It was happening.
When the employment contract was finally handed to her, excitement filled her chest.
Her very first summer job.
She carefully signed the papers.
And when everything was finished, she thanked Ms. Danica and left the office.
As she walked through the hallway, she carefully placed her copy of the contract inside her handbag.
A smile lingered on her lips.
But the moment she looked up—
Her entire body froze.
Tom.
He was walking directly toward her.
Her breath caught.
Her heart stopped.
Then immediately started racing.
Fast.
Too fast.
Anna instinctively wanted to turn around.
Run.
Hide.
Do anything.
But she couldn't move.
It was as if her feet had been nailed to the floor.
Her heartbeat thundered inside her chest.
Palpitations.
That was the only word she could think of.
Every step Tom took toward her made her pulse race even harder.
Then he looked up.
And their eyes met.
Anna caught his gaze.
And suddenly—
Butterflies exploded inside her stomach.
The world around her disappeared.
The voices.
The footsteps.
The noise.
Everything faded.
All she could see...
Was him.
