.

.

While Leon continued fighting against the Tyrant and Ramon deep inside the facility, the battle outside was becoming just as brutal.

Ramon was slowly losing control over his mutated body.

The more he transformed, the more unstable he became.

At this point, he barely even resembled a human anymore.

His gigantic worm-like body continued thrashing wildly throughout the underground chamber while attacking Leon relentlessly like a mindless beast driven only by rage and hatred.

Meanwhile—

Chris and Jill were fighting desperately for survival while escorting Emma and Ada through the collapsing facility.

The deeper they moved through the corridors, the more horrifying creatures Ramon had unleashed against them.

Mutated monkeys.

Giant infected bats.

Failed experimental creatures.

Every hallway felt like a battlefield.

Gunfire echoed constantly through the underground passages while explosions and distant roars shook the facility around them.

After barely managing to kill another giant infected bat alongside several mutated monkeys, Chris and Jill finally took cover inside a damaged hallway to catch their breath.

Both of them were exhausted.

Sweat covered their faces while empty magazines littered the floor nearby.

Jill leaned against the wall briefly before breathing heavily.

"How many of those things are left?" she asked.

Chris looked down the corridor carefully before replying seriously,

"Three more."

Jill followed his gaze.

In the darkness ahead, three gigantic mutated cockroaches crawled across the walls and ceiling while searching for them relentlessly.

The creatures were nearly human-sized, with hardened shells and grotesque infected limbs extending from their bodies.

The group had been fighting nonstop for nearly the entire escape.

Even Chris and Jill were starting to reach their limits.

Then suddenly—

A familiar voice echoed behind them.

"Chris? Jill?"

Both immediately turned around sharply and aimed their weapons out of instinct.

But the moment they saw who it was—

Their expressions changed instantly.

"Emma?!"

Emma arrived alongside Ada through the corridor behind them.

Jill immediately stepped forward.

"Are you alright?"

Emma nodded quickly.

"Yes."

Chris lowered his weapon slightly before speaking.

"We came to rescue you. Leon stayed behind to handle the main enemy."

Then his eyes shifted toward Ada immediately.

His expression hardened.

"…And who are you?"

Ada remained perfectly calm despite the tense atmosphere.

"I'm Ada Wong," she replied calmly. "CBI."

Jill narrowed her eyes slightly while remaining alert.

"What do you want?"

A faint smirk appeared on Ada's face.

"We don't have time for interrogations right now," she answered. "We need to leave."

Her expression became more serious afterward.

"I came here to investigate illegal bio-organic experiments. That's all."

The building suddenly trembled violently again.

Boom!!!

Dust fell from the ceiling above them.

Ada immediately continued.

"There's a gigantic worm-like mutant and a specially engineered Tyrant fighting Leon right now."

Chris frowned slightly.

"Leon can handle Tyrants," he said seriously. "He's done it before."

Ada slowly shook her head.

"Not these ones."

The atmosphere instantly became tense again.

"They were specifically designed to kill him."

Jill's expression hardened immediately.

"…What do you mean designed to kill him?"

Ada crossed her arms calmly.

"The creatures carry something called Compound V mixed together with a new virus Ramon created."

The moment she said those words—

Both Chris and Jill turned pale slightly.

They knew exactly what Compound V was capable of.

Ada continued calmly,

"It weakens Leon's abilities and allows those creatures to actually injure him."

Chris immediately looked toward the underground levels beneath them.

"We need to help him."

But before either of them could move—

Ada spoke again.

"There's no time."

Another violent earthquake shook the entire facility.

Cracks rapidly spread across the hallway walls while alarms blared loudly throughout the building.

"The facility is collapsing," Ada said seriously.

Jill narrowed her eyes.

"How do you know?"

This time, Emma answered quietly.

"Because I saw them fighting."

Everyone looked toward her.

"Their attacks are causing earthquakes underground," Emma continued nervously. "The entire lower section is collapsing."

Boom!!!

Another tremor shook the corridor violently.

Ada nodded slightly.

"At this rate, the whole facility will come down within minutes."

Chris clenched his fists.

Jill looked conflicted.

She clearly wanted to go back for Leon.

But Emma slowly stepped closer before placing a hand gently on Jill's shoulder.

"We should leave," Emma said quietly.

Jill looked toward her.

"Staying here will only make things harder for him."

Emma tried forcing herself to stay calm despite the fear visible in her eyes.

"Trust Leon."

Silence filled the hallway briefly.

Finally—

Jill exhaled slowly.

"…Fine."

Then she looked toward Chris seriously.

"Chris, take point."

Chris nodded immediately and moved to the front of the group with his rifle ready.

Jill remained at the rear, making sure nothing attacked them from behind.

Without wasting any more time, the four of them continued moving toward the facility exit carefully.

But suddenly—

Crash!

Three giant cockroaches suddenly dropped from the ceiling behind them.

"There!"

Jill reacted instantly.

Bang!

She fired immediately, hitting one directly in the forehead.

The giant insect screeched before collapsing dead onto the ground.

The remaining two creatures instantly rushed toward them.

Chris stepped forward without hesitation.

Bang!

Another precise shot exploded through the second creature's head.

It collapsed immediately.

But the third cockroach suddenly leaped directly toward Jill.

"Jill!"

Chris reacted instantly and kicked the creature directly in the face midair.

Boom!

The monster crashed sideways into the wall.

Before it could recover—

Bang!

Jill fired directly into its head.

The final creature collapsed lifelessly onto the floor.

For a few seconds, everyone remained silent except for the sound of distant explosions shaking the underground facility.

Jill slowly lowered her weapon before taking a deep breath.

"…Let's move."

Chris nodded immediately.

And together—

The four of them continued running toward the exit while the facility slowly collapsed around them.

On the other side of the collapsing facility—

Boom!!!

Leon's body slammed violently into the wall after another brutal hit from Ramon's tentacles.

The reinforced concrete cracked deeply behind him from the impact.

For a brief moment, Leon remained pinned against the broken wall while blood dripped slowly from the corner of his mouth.

"Tch…"

He coughed lightly before lifting his head again.

Ahead of him—

The gigantic worm-like Ramon continued roaring furiously while its six enormous tentacles tore apart everything around it.

Beside the mutant monster, the Tyrant slowly approached once again despite all the damage it had already suffered.

Leon took a deep breath.

His body hurt badly.

The Compound V flowing through both enemies continued weakening him every second.

But something else was happening too.

His magma powers were slowly adapting.

Burning through the Compound V.

The more Leon fought—

The stronger the magma inside him became.

His body temperature continued rising higher and higher.

Strength.

Stamina.

Power.

Everything was increasing violently under the pressure of battle.

Steam erupted from Leon's body while magma dripped from both his arms onto the floor beneath him.

Then—

Without hesitation—

Leon launched himself forward again.

Boom!!!

The floor exploded beneath his feet.

The Tyrant roared and charged toward him simultaneously.

Leon's eyes sharpened.

This time—

He put everything he had into a single attack.

Magma erupted wildly around his arm before compressing into an enormous volcanic fist.

"HELL HOUND!"

Leon roared furiously while thrusting the attack directly toward the Tyrant's exposed heart.

At the same moment—

Multiple tentacles from Ramon lunged toward him from behind.

But Leon ignored them completely.

His entire focus remained locked onto the Tyrant.

Boom!!!

The gigantic magma fist pierced directly through the creature's chest.

This time—

The repeated damage finally reached its limit.

The hardened protection around the Tyrant's heart shattered completely under Leon's overwhelming force.

The volcanic attack tore straight through the exposed core.

The Tyrant growled violently.

Then suddenly—

Its gigantic body froze.

Leon's magma-covered arm had completely pierced through its heart.

Silence filled the battlefield briefly.

Then—

Boom!!!

The Tyrant collapsed lifelessly onto the ground.

Dead.

Leon immediately pulled himself backward while dodging another incoming tentacle attack from Ramon.

Crash!

The tentacle destroyed the ground where Leon had stood moments earlier.

Leon landed roughly before slowly lifting his head toward the gigantic worm monster.

Heavy breaths escaped from his mouth.

Then finally—

A cold smile appeared briefly on his face.

"…Looks like it's only you and me now."

ROOOAAARRR!!!

Ramon roared furiously after seeing his greatest creation destroyed.

But before either of them could attack again—

Suddenly—

Ring! Ring! Ring!

A loud red alarm echoed throughout the facility.

WARNING. WARNING.

SELF-DESTRUCTION SEQUENCE ACTIVATED.

WARNING. WARNING.

"10...9...8...7..6..."

The entire building began shaking violently.

Leon's eyes widened slightly.

Then his expression instantly darkened.

He understood immediately.

Ramon had planted a self-destruct mechanism connected to the Tyrant.

The moment it died—

The entire facility was set to explode.

"You bastard…" Leon growled.

His anger exploded instantly.

The temperature around his body skyrocketed once again while magma erupted violently from beneath his feet.

The entire underground chamber began melting from the heat alone.

Ramon roared and launched multiple tentacles toward him again.

But Leon no longer cared.

His blue eyes widened with fury while magma exploded around both his arms like volcanic eruptions.

Then—

Leon lunged forward at full speed.

"BASTARD!!!"

He roared furiously before unleashing another massive volcanic attack directly toward Ramon's gigantic face.

"GREAT ERUPTION!!!"

Boom!!!!!!!!

Outside the collapsing facility—

Jill, Chris, Emma, and Ada finally burst out from the underground exit and reached the forest outside.

All four of them were breathing heavily after fighting nonstop through the infected creatures and collapsing corridors.

Behind them, the gigantic facility continued trembling violently.

Warning alarms still echoed faintly from underground.

"Move!" Chris shouted.

None of them slowed down.

The four immediately ran farther away from the structure while pieces of debris and smoke continued falling around them.

Then suddenly—

BOOOOOOMMMMM!!!

A deafening explosion erupted behind them.

The entire underground facility exploded violently.

A massive pillar of fire burst into the night sky while the ground itself shook like an earthquake.

The shockwave instantly reached them.

All four covered their faces and threw themselves onto the ground instinctively as burning debris flew overhead.

Flames spread rapidly throughout the forest surrounding the destroyed facility.

For several long seconds—

Only explosions and collapsing structures could be heard.

Then slowly…

The shockwave faded.

The ringing in their ears gradually disappeared.

Jill slowly pushed herself up first.

Her blue eyes widened slightly after seeing the scene before them.

The building that once stood there—

Was gone.

Nothing remained except burning debris, collapsing ruins, and massive flames spreading across the destroyed area.

Black smoke rose endlessly into the night sky.

Emma stared silently at the destruction.

Then finally—

Her voice trembled slightly.

"…Is he okay?"

Jill took a deep breath while forcing herself to stay calm.

Leon survived impossible situations before.

He had to survive this too.

"He's alive," Jill replied firmly, though worry still remained visible in her eyes. "He has to be."

Chris nodded seriously beside her.

"We should check the center."

Ada silently observed the burning ruins before nodding once.

Without wasting another second, the four of them cautiously moved toward the destroyed facility while avoiding collapsing debris and spreading flames.

The closer they got—

The hotter the air became.

Burning metal, shattered concrete, and melted structures covered the entire area.

Suddenly—

Jill noticed something strange on the ground nearby.

"…Wait."

She slowly crouched down.

Scattered across the debris was a strange blue powder-like substance mixed with ash and dust.

It almost looked like glowing sand.

Jill carefully reached toward it.

The moment her fingers touched the substance—

Her entire hand suddenly turned ice-cold.

Jill's eyes widened instantly.

She immediately pulled her hand back.

Her expression turned pale.

"…Not good."

Chris immediately stepped closer.

"What happened?"

Jill stared at the strange blue residue seriously.

"It's Compound V."

The atmosphere instantly became tense.

Ada's eyes narrowed slightly.

Jill slowly stood back up.

"The self-destruction sequence must've spread it through the explosion."

Emma's face instantly lost color.

"Oh no…"

If the entire area was contaminated with Compound V—

Then Leon was still somewhere inside it.

Chris immediately understood the danger too.

Compound V already weakened Leon badly during the fight.

Being exposed to this amount directly after the explosion…

Could kill him.

Emma suddenly looked toward the burning ruins desperately.

"He's still here!"

Her voice trembled with panic.

"He can't be dead… he still…"

She stopped herself briefly before clenching her fists tightly.

"He can't die like this."

Jill immediately snapped back into focus.

"Chris!"

Chris looked toward her instantly.

"You take the left side," Jill ordered seriously. "I'll search the right."

Chris nodded immediately.

Ada quietly loaded her weapon before speaking calmly.

"I'll check the deeper rubble."

Emma looked toward the burning ruins again before nodding firmly despite the fear in her eyes.

"I'll help too."

Without wasting another second—

The four of them split up and began searching through the burning remains of the destroyed facility desperately.

Flames continued rising around them while smoke filled the night sky.

But none of them stopped searching.

Because somewhere beneath the debris—

Leon might still be alive.

The four of them continued searching desperately through the burning ruins.

Flames spread across the destroyed facility while thick black smoke covered the night sky above them. Pieces of burning debris still collapsed occasionally around the area, making every second more dangerous.

Emma kept looking around nervously.

"Leon…" she whispered quietly.

Then suddenly—

BOOOOMMMM!!!

A massive explosion erupted somewhere deep within the ruins.

All four instantly turned toward the source.

The next moment—

A gigantic column of magma erupted violently into the sky like a volcanic eruption.

The entire forest illuminated red from the overwhelming heat.

Boom!!!

Molten magma shot hundreds of meters upward before beginning to rain back down across the surrounding area.

Chris's eyes widened.

"What the hell?!"

The burning magma rapidly descended toward them.

Jill reacted instantly.

"DODGE!"

All four immediately jumped away in different directions.

Boom!!!

The magma crashed directly into the ground where they had stood moments earlier, exploding violently upon impact.

Heat waves spread everywhere.

The ground itself melted from the temperature.

Jill rolled across the ground before quickly standing back up and aiming her weapon toward the smoke rising from the crash site.

Chris immediately positioned himself beside her with his rifle raised.

Ada calmly stepped forward while remaining alert.

Emma stood behind them nervously.

Slowly—

The smoke began clearing.

And what they saw made everyone pause.

A pool of magma.

Molten lava bubbled violently within the crater while unbearable heat distorted the surrounding air.

The magma suddenly moved.

Everyone immediately tensed.

Jill narrowed her eyes.

"Stay alert."

Chris tightened his grip on his rifle.

Then suddenly—

The magma pool began rising upward.

Slowly.

Very slowly.

First, legs formed from molten magma.

Then a torso.

Then arms.

Until finally—

A complete humanoid figure made entirely from magma stood before them.

Ada's eyes widened slightly.

Even for someone experienced like her—

This was something completely new.

The magma figure slowly began walking toward them.

With every step, the molten lava covering its body slowly cooled and hardened before peeling away.

Then finally—

The figure fully revealed itself.

Leon.

But the moment everyone saw him clearly—

Their expressions changed instantly.

Not because of the magma transformation.

But because of the wound across his body.

A massive scar stretched diagonally from his right shoulder all the way down toward the lower side of his stomach.

The injury looked horrifying.

Blood still flowed slowly from the wound while burned flesh surrounded parts of the scar.

It was deep.

Far too deep.

And by the looks of it—

The scar would remain permanently.

Emma's face turned pale.

Jill looked shocked.

Even Chris remained silent after seeing the condition Leon was in.

A normal human would have died instantly from injuries like that.

Or fallen unconscious at the very least.

But Leon—

Was still standing.

Barely.

His face looked exhausted while steam slowly rose from his body continuously. His breathing had become heavier, and for the first time since they met him—

Leon actually looked tired.

Still—

He remained standing.

Leon slowly looked toward them before speaking in a calm but exhausted voice.

"…Ready the chopper."

Everyone stayed silent.

"We need to leave. Fast."

Then without waiting for a response—

Leon simply started walking past them toward the forest.

Jill immediately stepped forward.

"Leon."

He stopped briefly.

"…Are you okay?"

Even Jill sounded unsure asking that question.

The wound across his body was horrifying.

No ordinary person could continue moving after suffering damage like that.

Leon remained silent for a few seconds.

Then finally—

"I can still move for hours."

His voice sounded calm.

But everyone could tell he was in pain.

Deep pain.

Even his body movements looked heavier than usual.

Still—

Leon forced himself forward again.

"We need to leave before this place fully collapses."

Then he continued walking toward the hidden helicopters deeper inside the forest—the same ones Chris and Jill landed far away earlier to avoid detection.

The others exchanged silent looks briefly before following behind him quietly.

Above them—

The burning ruins of Ramon's facility continued collapsing into flames behind the dark forest night.
