This chapter follows Rudolf Symbol at night after finally finishing a long day of student council work. Because she is so famous, walking the normal routes is a hassle: admirers constantly stop her for autographs, and desperate veteran trainers sometimes literally slide over begging for protection from their horse girls. Since helping them only delays the inevitable, Rudolf has gotten into the habit of taking quiet side paths home.
While walking alone, she first amuses herself with one of her terrible puns, then starts brooding over her two big unresolved problems.
The first is the "mysterious man" who appeared in front of the Three Goddesses statue. The girls who saw him have gotten more and more distracted and miserable because they cannot find him again. Their condition is now serious enough to affect training and even dorm management. Rudolf had already hired Gold Ship to investigate, but there has been no progress—partly because the clues are too few, and partly because Gold Ship may just be slacking off.
The second problem is Tokai Teio still not becoming Tang Han's trainee. Rudolf has tried the gentle route, encouraged Teio to get closer to him, and even watched Teio launch her "little sister strategy," but Tang Han keeps refusing any formal trainer-trainee relationship with Teio no matter how well he responds to her closeness otherwise. That just makes Rudolf more determined. She starts deciding that if soft methods will not work, she may need to switch to more underhanded methods.
The problem is that she has no leverage. Tang Han has no visible past, no discoverable black history, no obvious weakness she can exploit.
Then fate hands her exactly what she wants.
While walking down the secluded path, Rudolf hears a soft singing voice. The voice is deliberately quiet, but she recognizes it immediately: it sounds like Tang Han. She is confused—why would he be here?
Then Tang Han actually appears from around the corner.
And he is carrying the unconscious Sakikawa/Tazuna in his arms.
Both of them freeze in place when they see each other.
Rudolf instantly notices the suspicious setup: late at night, on a hidden path, Tang Han is secretly carrying a sleeping or unconscious Tazuna. From the outside, it looks incredibly compromising.
Tang Han immediately panics because he can tell this looks awful and starts trying to explain.
But Rudolf's perspective flips completely at that exact moment.
She has just been worrying about how to find something she can hold over him, and now this scene has dropped directly into her lap. So instead of being shocked, suspicious, or angry, she realizes with delight:
This is the handle she has been looking for.
The chapter ends on that note—Rudolf looking at the extremely suspicious scene and thinking, essentially, "Oh? So this is my leverage."
