"Wait, where did he go?" Persephone said the very moment she realized Jacob was no longer standing in the center of the main deck.
She blinked her wide pink eyes and looked around the crowded space, but his familiar figure had completely vanished without a trace.
Her voice carried a sudden hint of panic, her fingers tightening slightly against the smooth railing of the ship as she tried to look for him amongst those on deck.
"He's probably gone to help the crew manage the ship," Priscilla said from her spot on the upper balcony.
She stood up straight and stretched her limbs a bit, her white ears twitching as she looked down at the empty space where he'd been just a few minutes ago. "Running a massive battleship like this one requires a lot of constant work, and that man never likes to sit around doing nothing to be honest."
"Oh..." Persephone said, her voice sounding a bit disappointed as her shoulders dropped.
