Every movement Missy made had been under Raven's watchful eyes ever since her due date drew near.
Her swollen belly only made him even more protective.
It was as if she were a magnet. Wherever Missy went, Raven followed. He watched her, guarded her, always ready to move faster than the speed of light if anything happened.
"You're way too alert," Missy chuckled as she bent slightly to pick up the hairbrush she had dropped, only for Raven to stop her immediately.
"You're far too relaxed," Raven replied.
Missy smiled. "I only bent down a little."
"That wasn't a little. Your belly's in the way. You'll put pressure on our baby."
Her laughter rang warmly through the room. By now, she had grown used to Raven's excessive protectiveness—especially whenever it involved their child.
"We still have another week until the due date. Relax. Don't be so tense."
The moment the words left her lips, her body stiffened.

She instinctively held her belly.
