The faint aroma of fried eggs, bacon, and warm toast drifted through the air as Charlotte slowly blinked and opened her eyes.
She looked around.
Right.
She was in Justin's apartment.
Last night, she had fallen asleep on the sofa while waiting for him.
Charlotte let out a sigh and ran a hand through her messy hair.
The heavy feeling immediately returned.
She remembered what had happened last night, along with the arguments she had had with Justin over the past few days that still left an unpleasant feeling lingering in her chest.
"Come have breakfast."
Justin peeked into the bedroom, startling Charlotte.
Since last night, they hadn't really spoken to each other, and the silence between them felt awkward.
"Y-Yes," Charlotte replied.
Justin appeared wearing an apron and still holding a spatula.
The sight was surprisingly adorable.
Usually, whenever Charlotte saw him, Justin was always neatly dressed, often preparing dinner for their dates.
