Chapter 927 - Chapter 886: Hydro Thunder part 5

**Chapter 886: Orbital Inferno**

**Scene 1: Mon Cala Orbit – The Closing Net**

The void above Mon Cala was a maelstrom of fire and destruction. Thousands of ships clashed in a deadly dance, turbolaser beams crisscrossing the darkness like emerald and crimson lightning. Explosions bloomed silently in the vacuum, brilliant fireballs that lit up the water world's atmosphere for brief, terrible moments. The Imperial fleet's drill formations carved through the CIS lines with ruthless precision, while the Mon Cala and their allies fought back with desperate, unyielding bravery.

Dagon remained locked in his Battle Meditation aboard the *Ionic*, his body trembling with the strain. Blood trickled from his eyes and ears, but he refused to release his grip on the Force. Every death, every destroyed ship, echoed through him like a hammer blow. Yet he pushed on, guiding the armada like a conductor leading a deadly symphony.

**Resurgent-Class Battlescruiser "Fortitude" – Fleet Admiral Dittmar POV**

Fleet Admiral Dittmar stood on the bridge of the *Fortitude*, the massive Resurgent-class battlescruiser unleashing its full firepower. "Get a Silencer squadron near the eastern fleet, we need those enemy satellites destroyed!" he yelled to his fighter command station.

The battle had been raging for nearly ten minutes, and over two hundred enemy CIS ships had already been destroyed, while only thirty of theirs had fallen. The Mon Cala were proving stubborn, their fleet fighting with coordinated desperation.

He watched as the *Fortitude* launched a dozen harpoon missiles, quickly destroying three Providence-class dreadnoughts, while two Silencer-equipped Venators concentrated their beam cannons and obliterated an enemy Subjugator. The massive CIS ship broke apart in a spectacular explosion, its debris scattering across the orbital plane.

"Keep the pressure on!" Dittmar ordered. "Don't let them regroup!"

A Bulwark Mark I-class battleship loomed ahead, its rotating weapon sections spinning as it unleashed a barrage of turbolaser fire. The *Fortitude*'s shields flared under the impact, but the Resurgent's superior firepower answered. Heavy turbolaser batteries and concussion missile launchers hammered the Bulwark, tearing through its armor. The CIS battleship listed, secondary explosions rippling across its hull before it broke apart in a brilliant fireball.

"Target down!" the tactical officer reported. "Moving to the next group!"

**Vector-Class Star Destroyer "Vanguard" – Captain Elara Voss POV**

The *Vanguard*, a sleek Vector-class Star Destroyer, sliced through the chaos, its wedge-shaped hull cutting through enemy fighter screens. Captain Elara Voss gripped the railing as the ship rocked under fire from a MC75 Star Cruiser.

"Shields at fifty percent! Port side battery three is offline!" the tactical officer shouted.

"Rotate the ship! Bring starboard batteries to bear!" Voss commanded. "All fighters, focus fire on that MC75's bridge tower!"

The Vector's turbolasers answered, emerald beams lancing out to hammer the Mon Cala cruiser. A squadron of TIE Defenders streaked past, proton torpedoes streaking toward the MC75. "Torpedoes away!" a pilot called. The explosions ripped through the cruiser's armor, secondary blasts lighting up its hull.

"Direct hit! She's venting atmosphere!" the sensor officer reported. "Keep pouring it on—she's listing!"

The *Vanguard* pressed forward, its advanced weaponry tearing through the enemy formation. Another Bulwark Mark I-class battleship loomed ahead, its rotating weapon sections firing desperately. The Vector's heavy turbolasers and ion cannons hammered it relentlessly. The Bulwark's shields collapsed, and the Imperial ship's concentrated fire tore it apart in a series of catastrophic explosions. Debris scattered across the orbital plane as the massive CIS battleship broke into burning fragments.

**Annihilator – Shin POV**

Shin stood on the *Annihilator*'s bridge, her focus locked on the meld. "Contact fire control, we have fighters on the left," a clone officer reported.

"Enemy bomber moving, raise the northern AA defense," another officer shouted.

More shouts, more orders, but Shin shut her mind off to focus on the meld. This was no doubt the largest fleet battle in the war and the largest in recorded history now.

The *Annihilator* and the Mandators targeted the enemy Subjugators. Multicolored explosions lit up the void, each ship a cascade of colors when they were destroyed.

The massive super star destroyer unleashed its full arsenal, XX-9 heavy turbolasers and ion cannons tearing through the CIS formation. "Focus fire on the lead Subjugator!" Shin ordered. "Take down their command ship!"

A Providence-class dreadnought tried to intercept, its heavy weapons blazing. The *Annihilator*'s main battery answered, a single devastating salvo ripping through the dreadnought's shields and hull. The ship broke apart in a brilliant explosion, its debris scattering like confetti.

The Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnoughts followed, their massive orbital autocannons and turbolaser batteries pounding the enemy lines. One Mandator targeted a group of Recusant-class light destroyers, its weapons reducing them to burning wreckage in seconds. Another focused on a cluster of MC75 Star Cruisers, its firepower overwhelming their shields and tearing them apart in a series of catastrophic explosions.

**Scene 3: Closing on the Orbital Shipyard**

The Imperial fleet pressed forward, the drill formations carving deeper into the enemy lines. The Mon Cala orbital shipyard loomed ahead, a massive ring structure bristling with defenses. Golan defense stations and satellite networks fired desperately, but the Empire's fighter screen and point-defense systems held firm.

"Target the shipyard's primary power nodes!" Dagon ordered through the meld. "Disable their defenses!"

Resurgent-class battlescruisers and Vector-class Star Destroyers led the charge, their weapons hammering the orbital ring. Explosions rippled across the structure as turbolaser fire and proton torpedoes struck home. A group of MC75 Star Cruisers tried to intercept, but a squadron of Silencer-equipped Venators focused their beam cannons, slicing through the Mon Cala ships in brilliant bursts of fire.

The *Fortitude* unleashed another salvo of harpoon missiles, destroying two more Providence-class dreadnoughts. "Keep pushing!" Dittmar ordered. "We're almost there!"

The *Annihilator* fired its main battery, a devastating beam that tore through the shipyard's outer ring. Secondary explosions bloomed across the structure as power nodes failed. The orbital shipyard began to list, its defenses faltering.

Dagon's voice echoed through the meld. "All ships, focus fire on the shipyard. Take it down!"

The Imperial fleet closed in, thousands of weapons firing in unison. The Mon Cala and CIS fleet fought bravely, but the tide had turned. Explosions lit up the void as the orbital shipyard began to break apart, debris scattering across Mon Cala's atmosphere.

The battle for Mon Cala's orbit was reaching its climax, the Empire's victory growing closer with every passing moment.
