**Chapter 885: Hydro Thunder – The Battle of Mon Cala **
**Scene 4: Fierce Space Battle – Mon Cala Orbit**
The void above Mon Cala burned with the fury of thousands of ships. Turbolaser fire crisscrossed the darkness like emerald and crimson lightning, while explosions bloomed in silent fireballs that lit up the water world's atmosphere. The Imperial fleet's drill formations tore through the CIS lines with brutal efficiency, but the Mon Cala and their allies fought back with desperate tenacity.
On the bridge of the *Ionic*, Dagon remained locked in his Battle Meditation, blood trickling from his eyes and ears as he guided the armada. The pain was excruciating, but he refused to release his grip on the Force. Every death, every destroyed ship, echoed through him like a hammer blow.
**TIE Silencer Squadron – Pilot Dialog**
"Blue Leader to squadron, break left! Those Vultures are swarming the *Resilient*!" Captain Jace "Blue" Varr called out, his TIE Silencer banking sharply as droid fighters closed in.
"Copy, Blue Leader! I've got three on my tail—kriff, these things are fast!" Lieutenant Mira "Blue Two" responded, her voice tense as she rolled her fighter, lasers blazing. A Vulture exploded behind her in a shower of sparks. "One down! Keep pushing—they're trying to screen the Subjugators!"
"Blue Three, watch your six! Hyena bombers incoming!" another pilot shouted. The squadron dove through a storm of point-defense fire, their Silencers' advanced systems allowing them to weave through the chaos.
"These Mon Cala pilots are good—almost as good as us!" Blue Four laughed grimly, his cannons tearing apart a droid tri-fighter. "But we're better. For the Empire!"
The TIE Silencers and advanced X-wings tore through the enemy fighter screen, their pilots coordinating with deadly precision. "Keep them off the capital ships!" Jace ordered. "The big guns need clear lines!"
**Venator-Class Star Destroyer "Resilient" – Bridge**
"Shields at sixty percent! Port side battery three is offline!" the tactical officer shouted as the *Resilient* rocked under heavy fire from a Providence-class dreadnought.
"Rotate the ship! Bring starboard batteries to bear!" Captain Elara Voss commanded, gripping the railing. "All fighters, focus fire on that dreadnought's bridge tower!"
The Venator's turbolasers answered, emerald beams lancing out to hammer the enemy ship. A squadron of X-wings streaked past, proton torpedoes streaking toward the Providence. "Torpedoes away!" a pilot called. The explosions ripped through the dreadnought's armor, secondary blasts lighting up its hull.
"Direct hit! She's venting atmosphere!" the sensor officer reported. "Keep pouring it on—she's listing!"
**Annihilator – Shin POV**
Shin stood on the *Annihilator*'s bridge, her focus locked on the meld. "Contact fire control, we have fighters on the left," a clone officer reported.
"Enemy bomber moving, raise the northern AA defense," another officer shouted.
More shouts, more orders, but Shin shut her mind off to focus on the meld. This was no doubt the largest fleet battle in the war and the largest in recorded history now.
The *Annihilator* and the Mandators targeted the enemy Subjugators. Multicolored explosions lit up the void, each ship a cascade of colors when they were destroyed.
The massive super star destroyer unleashed its full arsenal, XX-9 heavy turbolasers and ion cannons tearing through the CIS formation. "Focus fire on the lead Subjugator!" Shin ordered. "Take down their command ship!"
**Resurgent-Class Battlescruiser "Fortitude" – Fleet Admiral Dittmar POV**
"Get a Silencer squadron near the eastern fleet, we need those enemy satellites destroyed," Dittmar yelled to his fighter command station.
The battle started and into 3 minutes, over 100 enemy CIS ships were destroyed and 10 of theirs. The Mon Cala were proving stubborn.
He watched as the *Fortitude* launched a dozen harpoon missiles quickly destroying 3 Providence-class dreadnoughts while the 2 Silencer Venators beam cannons concentrated and destroyed an enemy Subjugator.

"Keep the pressure on!" Dittmar ordered. "Don't let them regroup!"
**Nebula-Class Star Destroyer "Vanguard" – Captain Elara Voss POV**
The *Vanguard* shook as a Recusant-class light destroyer's lasers raked its shields. "Shields holding at forty percent!" the tactical officer called.
"Bring us about! All batteries fire on that Recusant!" Captain Elara Voss commanded. The Nebula's weapons answered, tearing through the enemy ship's hull. "Torpedo salvo—now!"
The torpedoes struck home, the Recusant exploding in a brilliant fireball. "Target down! Next group—keep formation tight!"
The drill formations held, the Imperial ships rotating to share the damage while concentrating overwhelming fire. The Mon Cala fleet fought bravely, but the Empire's numbers and coordination were beginning to tell.
**Scene 5: The Tide Turns**
Dagon remained locked in his Battle Meditation, his body trembling with the strain. "Hold the line," he whispered through the meld. "Push them back."
The Imperial fleet pressed forward, the Mandators and *Annihilator* leading the charge. Subjugators fell one by one, their massive hulls breaking apart under concentrated fire. The Mon Cala's planetary defenses fired desperately, but the Empire's fighter screen and point-defense systems held firm.
"Enemy formation breaking!" a sensor officer reported. "They're retreating toward the planet!"
"Pursue but do not overextend," Dagon ordered through the meld. "Prepare for planetary assault."
The battle for Mon Cala's orbit was turning decisively in the Empire's favor, but the real fight—the underwater war—had only just begun.
