**Chapter 792: Sacrifice at Pammant**
**Scene 1: Pammant Shipyards – Orbit**
**Dagon POV**
The battle had turned savage in seconds.
The ring-shaped shipyard orbiting Pammant was not defenseless. Hidden orbital defense platforms and weapon emplacements built into the station itself suddenly came alive. Hundreds of heavy turbolaser batteries and ion cannons opened fire in a coordinated barrage that lit up the void like a second sun.
"Evasive action!" I roared over the fleet channel. "All ships break formation — focus fire on those platforms!"
It was too late for some.
One Allegiance-class heavy cruiser, the *Righteous*, took the brunt of a concentrated salvo from three defense platforms. Its shields flared and collapsed under the sheer volume of fire. Turbolaser bolts punched straight through its hull, carving deep glowing wounds along its length. Secondary explosions rippled across its spine as reactor containment failed.
"*Righteous* is breaking apart!" a clone officer shouted. "Abandon ship! Abandon ship!"
Escape pods launched in streams, but many didn't make it. The massive cruiser listed violently, then tore itself in half in a catastrophic explosion that lit up the entire battlefield.
Three Venators suffered similar fates in rapid succession. The *Endurance*, *Resolute*, and *Vanguard* were caught in overlapping fields of fire from the station's defenses and a desperate counter-push by Providence-class carriers. Their shields failed under the onslaught. One by one they were torn open, burning wreckage spiraling toward the planet below.
"Status on the *Light Fury*!" I demanded.
The Resurgent-class battlecruiser *Light Fury* had taken the worst hit of all. A lucky strike from a Bulwark Mk1 cruiser combined with station fire had breached its forward shields and gutted multiple decks. The massive ship was crippled, drifting, its engines flickering as emergency power struggled to keep it alive.
"Commander, *Light Fury* reports critical damage to main reactor and command deck!" the comms officer called. "They're losing containment!"
I didn't hesitate.
"Wrath Shield, Rocket Nova!"
The armor expanded around me once more into its 19-meter colossal form. Thrusters ignited as I launched from the *Annihilator*'s hangar, streaking across the void toward the dying Resurgent like a dark comet.
**Scene 2: Aboard the Light Fury – Evacuation and Sacrifice**
I crashed through the breached hull of the *Light Fury*, armor shrugging off debris and residual fire. Alarms screamed everywhere. Crew members and clones were already rushing toward escape pods and shuttles.
"Evacuate the ship!" I bellowed, voice amplified through the armor. "All hands to escape pods! Move!"
Clone Commander Voss met me in the main corridor, blood on his face but still standing tall. "Sir! The kyber reactor is destabilizing. We can't contain it much longer!"
"Good," I said grimly. "Get everyone off. I'll handle the rest."
The crew didn't argue. They had learned long ago not to question the Dragon when he spoke like that.
I made my way to the reactor chamber, the massive armor barely fitting through the corridors. The kyber core was glowing dangerously bright, cracks of unstable energy spiderwebbing across its containment field. I placed both massive hands on the reactor housing and began channeling the Force.
With a deep, resonant roar, I bled the kyber reactor — forcing its immense stored energy into a single, catastrophic overload while stabilizing it just enough to give the crew time to escape.
"*Light Fury* to all ships," I broadcast. "This vessel is now a guided missile. Clear the area around the central ring."
I took manual control of the dying battlecruiser's thrusters. The *Light Fury* groaned in protest as I forced its broken frame to accelerate, aiming straight for the heart of the Pammant shipyard ring.
Warning klaxons screamed. The reactor reached critical.
I waited until the last escape pods cleared, then released the containment.
The *Light Fury* became a blazing arrow of death.
It slammed into the central spine of the massive ring shipyard at full speed. The overloaded kyber reactor detonated in a cataclysmic explosion that lit up the entire system. A third of the enormous ring structure simply vanished — vaporized in the blast wave. Sections of the yard broke apart, spinning away into space as secondary explosions consumed drydocks, construction berths, and docked capital ships.
The destruction was absolute.
**Scene 3: Aftermath of the Ram**
**Dagon POV**
I floated in the void, armor scorched but intact, watching the carnage unfold. The Pammant shipyards — the Confederacy's primary source of heavy warships — were dying. A massive section of the ring was gone. Fires raged across what remained. Hundreds of enemy vessels were destroyed or crippled in the blast.
The Republic fleet pressed the advantage. The three Titan-class dreadnoughts unleashed hell on the remaining Providence carriers. Silencer-equipped Venators carved through Munificent formations. Bothan Assault Cruisers danced through the chaos, their speed and firepower proving decisive.
Ahsoka's voice came over the comm, filled with awe and concern. "Dagon! Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," I replied, thrusters firing as I returned toward the *Annihilator*. "The yard is breaking. Push the attack. No quarter."
The girls' ships arrived moments later, adding their firepower to the assault. Miaria's voice crackled with fierce pride. "That was insane. Even for you."
"Necessary," I said simply.
On the tactical display, the enemy fleet was collapsing. Tikkes' flagship *Malevolence 5* was listing badly, its escorts shattered. The ring shipyard continued to tear itself apart, pieces the size of cities drifting away.
Pammant was falling.
And with it, the Confederacy's ability to replace its losses in the coming months.
I landed back on the *Annihilator*'s deck, armor retracting as the girls rushed to meet me. The battle was not over, but the outcome was no longer in doubt.
The Dragon had broken the spine of the enemy's war machine.
Now only Dooku and Sidious remained.
