**Chapter 611**
**Scene 1**
**Jedi High Council Chamber**
**Dagon POV**
The silence that followed the knighting ceremony was deafening. Ahsoka, Zule, and Erictia stood tall as newly minted Jedi Knights, their faces flushed with a mixture of pride, disbelief, and overwhelming emotion. The pile of lightsabers on the central pedestal seemed to glow faintly under the chamber's soft lighting — a silent testament to the seismic shift that had just occurred.
I deactivated my blue lightsaber and clipped it back to my belt, taking a moment to steady myself. The weight of the title "Grand Master" still felt surreal, like wearing armor that didn't quite fit yet.
"Before we go any further," I said, my voice calm but firm, "let me outline my plans. We cannot afford hesitation. The situation with Mandalore is delicate. Death Watch is active, and the Darksaber is the key to unifying the clans under Duchess Satine's peaceful rule — or at least bringing them into the Republic's fold as allies. I will pose as a Temple Guard escorting Master Yoda. We investigate quietly, locate the Darksaber if possible, and use it to broker peace. No large-scale military involvement. This must remain subtle."
Obi-Wan rubbed his beard, still looking stunned. "And you believe this will work?"
"I believe it's our best chance," I replied. "Mandalore has been fractured for too long. If we can stabilize it, we gain a powerful neutral ally — or better, a committed one — without spilling more blood."
Shin Wren stepped forward, her purple-accented armor catching the light. She gestured to the tall, composed man standing beside her. "Before we proceed, allow me to introduce my brother, Zhou Wren. He is the current Warden of the Prism and has served the Order faithfully for years. His knowledge of ancient threats and containment protocols will be invaluable if we encounter any dark side anomalies on Mandalore."
Zhou bowed respectfully, his long white hair tied back neatly. "It is an honor to serve alongside you, Grand Master Marek. My sister has spoken highly of your leadership."
I nodded in return. "Welcome, Zhou. Your expertise will be needed."
Cin Drallig, the Jedi Battlemaster, stood near the back of the chamber, his arms crossed tightly over his chest. His face was a mask of deep confusion and barely restrained frustration. I could sense his thoughts swirling — *How did it come to this? The Council dissolving in a single afternoon? Dagon, barely more than a Knight in age, now leading us all?* He had trained generations of Jedi in lightsaber combat, and now the very Order he had sworn to protect was changing faster than he could process.
Nhon Artaru, my old Balance Corps master, stood beside him with a similar expression of bewilderment. His usual easygoing demeanor had cracked. *The boy I trained… now Grand Master? What madness has the Force wrought?* He kept glancing between me and the pile of lightsabers, as if expecting someone to declare it all a elaborate joke.
I addressed them both directly. "Master Cin, Master Nhon — I know this is sudden. I didn't ask for this responsibility, but the Council chose it. I will need your guidance. Cin, your mastery of lightsaber forms will be crucial for training our Knights. Nhon, your experience in the Balance Corps and understanding of gray paths will help us navigate these uncertain times."
Cin Drallig exhaled slowly, his confusion still evident. "I… will serve as best I can, Grand Master. But I must admit, this is… unprecedented."
Nhon simply shook his head with a wry, disbelieving smile. "Kid, you've come a long way from the stubborn acolyte I once trained. I'll help where I can. Just… try not to break the Order completely while you're at it."
I allowed a small, tired smile. "No promises."
**Scene 2**
**Jedi High Council Chamber**
**Anakin Skywalker POV**
Anakin stood near the edge of the chamber, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. *Grand Master Dagon? The Council just… handed over leadership?* Pride for Ahsoka's promotion warred with jealousy, confusion, and a strange sense of relief that someone decisive was now in charge. Yet the speed of it all left him reeling.
Obi-Wan looked equally lost, staring at the empty seats where Yoda, Oppo, Even Piell, and Shaak Ti had once sat. The weight of the moment pressed on everyone.
Dagon turned to the group again. "We leave for Mandalore within the hour. Master Yoda and I will handle the delicate negotiations. The rest of you — prepare the Temple and coordinate with the remaining fleets. This war is far from over."
The newly knighted Ahsoka, Zule, and Erictia exchanged excited but nervous glances. Shin stood proudly beside her brother Zhou, while the others processed the rapid changes.
Anakin felt a hand on his shoulder — Obi-Wan, offering silent support. For the first time in a long while, the future felt both terrifying and strangely hopeful.
