Ryan's POV
The ocean was beautiful.
But, even with all of its beauty, there was no denying how monstrous it could be.
As breath-taking as it was, it could be very unforgiving. If the waters did not catch you, then the creatures of the deep would.
Given everything that had gone on, from fighting Gwendolyn in the storm to then going overboard. Ryan had fully thought that he and Vivian would be dying, either from drowning or from being eaten.
Yet somehow they had survived, and were both still in one piece. At first, Ryan had tread the water on his own, doing so while holding Vivian's head above the water.
He had been tired beyond belief, but never once had he thought of letting her go, or of allowing both of them to drown.
When she had finally come to, Vivian, crying and in shock, had clung to him.
