The moment the words "Beast Control" left the man's mouth, every muscle in my body locked.

I had barely survived getting beaten with canes, accused of theft, chased halfway across town and mistaken for a pregnant woman seventeen times today.
Now I was getting arrested.
"This is ridiculous," Thalia scoffed before I could speak. "Ravy didn't transform."
The man raised a thick brow.
"We have witnesses."
"Then your witnesses need spectacles."
I almost laughed.
Thalia was standing in front of me like a tiny angry hen trying to protect a very confused lion.
The irony wasn't lost on me.
The second man stepped forward.
"A lion was seen near the eastern district."
"Lots of animals live near the eastern district," Thalia argued.
"The lion was female."
Thalia crossed her arms.
"Sexist."
The men stared.

Even they seemed confused by her response.
