The warm water laps around me, and for one blissful second I let myself pretend everything is fine. The bruises on my knees throb less underwater. My hair floats around me like seaweed. I could honestly fall asleep right here, mates be damned.
"Ravine," Aquasteine says again, and the way he says my name — careful, like he's handling something breakable — makes my stomach drop.
"Just say it," I say, bracing myself. "I've been kidnapped, nearly sacrificed by horse people, hit in the face by a maid, and propositioned by a man who called me babe. Whatever it is, I can take it."
Ramses, Zayne, and Alexis exchange a look. The kind of look that means none of them want to be the one to say it.
"It's about Jericho," Aquasteine says finally.
I blink. "Who?" I didn't know the fuck Jericho was but I had to play along.
The silence that follows is so loud I can hear the water dripping from the jacuzzi jets.
