Back when she was just a wisp of ghost fire, she could flit up and down and weave through the mire as she pleased.
But now that she had a skull, she couldn't fly very high anymore. To burrow into the mire, she first had to dig a hole of roughly the right size.
And so, a pristine white skull rolled aimlessly through the pitch-black swamp, searching for her desired prey and targets.
After absorbing the life force from countless beast bones, she had grown neck bones from her skull and now possessed a full rib cage and a pair of arms.
'It's not enough. I don't have enough energy to grow a complete skeleton.'
Moving long distances with such a skeleton would consume a great deal of her core energy. Besides, in this dark swamp, such a large form would easily attract danger.
She dug a large pit in the mire and hid her half-formed skeleton inside.
The green ghost fire within her skull burned fiercely, like a pair of jade-green eyes set deep within their sockets.
